Excellent choice for dinner. Delicious food. Great live music.
We come up to Nevada City for one thing, fondue dinner at Friar Tuck’s. So imagine our surprise when we got seated and looked at the menu and while the cheese fondue was still available, dinner fondue was no longer on the menu. Our server told us it was because of a new California law, which I know is incorrect because The Melting Pot is still open and serving dinner fondue in Sacramento. We ordered steak and pasta and it was fine, but nothing super special to write home about. We’ve had our last meal at Friar Tuck’s. :-(

First time diners at Friar Tuck's. Visiting from out of town for wife's birthday. Expected an exceptional experience. The food and atmosphere were very nice. Live music enhanced the vibe. The service fell far short of what should be reasonably expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Extended wait time just to order food despite the restaurant being less than half full on a Sunday evening. Greater disappointment when other diners who were seated 20 minutes after us were served their meals before we received our meals. Aft... read more
