The check in process is a nightmare. 4 :00 is late enough but then you have to stand in line forever. So basically you lost an entire day of vacation.

I would not recommend this Company to anyone, including my worst enemy. They have no issue renting units with Mold in the air ducts, roaches running around, half cleaned, etc. On every level their service failed. Went and stayed this past summer. They had to come out daily to clean/repair/something every day. Found mold and dust throughout the Vent ducts while they were there midweek as the vent covers were black with mold. We rented a condo in October after the flood and cancelled due to conditions in the area. We lost all of our money. We have been renting with GCR for years and had been satisfied but will never use them again. Other rental agencies in the area give partial refunds and some agencies allow you to cancel up to 7 days prior to check in with no penalty. Travel insurance was not helpful. If one road is open to the area they will not accept a claim. BEWARE.

Recently rented a house online. When we went to look at it and realized that it was too small. They were nice enough to give us keys to other properties to look at. When we decided on another house that had more room, they informed us that we would have to pay $400 in cancellation fees in addition to the extra cost of the bigger property! Do not do not do NOT rent from Garden City Realty. To get to the point, dryer broke down, my family wasted a half day of our vacation as the laundry mat. Made four phone calls (over the span of two days) before anything was done about the dryer. Also, our air conditioner stopped working. There was threat of hurricane so we just packed it up and came home since we would have been sitting around with no air conditioning anyway and the weather was going to turn off bad. My family and I stayed in Southern Sunrise. We checked in Sept 27. I received an email telling me the house had been inspected and was ready for our arrival. The house needs a deep cleaning done. (They only do this once a year.) Ceiling fans were very dirty as well as the baseboards. The trash had not been picked up from previous guest. Do not rent from this company. They take advantage of their customers during natural disasters. I hope they enjoy the money they kept from my family. It will be the last dollar I spend with this company.

Greed over common sense. We are scheduled to come in Sept 29. The lady at the office “everything will be fine in 4 days.” A direct contradiction to South Carolina Emergency Management Division asking folks to stay out of Harry and Georgetown counties if at all possible. GCR offers no rescheduling no refunds. Clearly the lady at the office should pursue a career with SCEMD since she seems to know more than they do in these matters.
