I have had two botched coloring jobs at this salon. Melissa, however, did a great job on the cut. The first was entirely the wrong color by Megan. Dark blonde/light brown rather than strawberry blonde and they tried to charge me for the correction, which was just a glaze. The second was by Kathy and turned out entirely two different colors - with the roots dark red and the rest barely colored at all. She heat-processed the roots and not the rest of the hair. I wanted to post an update to my review on Gene Juarez at the Silverdale Mall. Very soon after I posted my review they contacted me via email and asked me to call the salon. I did and they offered me a refund of $17.

I'm sure they do great color and cuts if I could ever made it to my appointment. Apprehensive about getting my hair cut and colored my friend had recommended Gene Juarez. I was ready to spend money on my long and already colored hair because I was sick of it. So I went in to do a consultation approximately one week before I was to make an appointment. If you're lucky enough not to be used as a student training session during your first hair cut appt. at Gene Juarez in Silverdale, chances are you won't be that lucky again. You might as well get used to the idea of a student standing right next to your hair dresser while your hair is being cut, beginning the moment you sit in the chair until the end of the cut. I have been going to this gene Juarez since it opened. Megan is an amazing colorist and my color is always exactly what I want. The gals that cut mt hair have been great, but two have left to have babies and I think that is fantastic. I always ask for a recommendation for someone new. The new gal was very nice,but did not hear me today. My hair was shoulder length and grows slowly. I said I was going to San Francisco and wanted a little more sophisticated look. Like Stacia, I am torn with this review as well. I liked the lady who cut my hair (Lisa)! She had patience and worked with me to get that perfect shorter haircut I was looking for! If I was rating for Lisa, I would give this 4 stars. However, my color job (by Dee) did not work out at all, so it has dominated the star rating. Here were my problems: 1. I am torn with this review because I haven't had a problem with the entire salon, just one colorist. I had come to Dee on 2 different occasions and both times were flops. Yesterday was the WORST! I used to be a hair stylist for 11 years so I know what to ask for when I get my hair done. There shouldn't be any mis-communication at all. I showed her a picture of the red hair I used to rock. I went in and asked if they were booked up for appointments yesterday (meaning my hair), and the girl working gestured at my face and said yes, but they could fit me in for a wax. Thanks a lot. Jerks.
