Instructors and students will have varied opinions so you'll need to be patient as they wade through their discussions. Some hit it on the nail what you're asking for, others will need to do extra to correct. But that's what the training is for and I had a very good student who was willing to listen to all instructors' guidance (even though they would contradict each other at times).
Be sure to request someone who has some experience. Be prepared to spend some time there.l

Mallory did a wonderful job on my hair. She was so polite! The lighting needs to be better to make it easier for the client and stylist to see.
I have had my hair highlighted for the past few years, and every time I left the salon I was unhappy with the brassy color that was not what I wanted. The most recent time somewhere else, my hair was severely damaged by the products being left on too long. At Gene Juarez Academy, they use better products, better techniques, and have far better prices than anywhere else I have gone. My hair looks and feels beautiful and shiny and is healthier than it has been in years. I could not be more pleased.
I was very impressed with the knowledge of students as well as instructors.
My stylist Barbara was wonderful she was thorough and good I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks
The only thing I didn't like was the shampoo area seemed to be the walkway for everything. One patron went to stretch her legs while being shampoed and she almost tripped someone.
Stylist was excellent. Very knowledgeable and the teachers were there to double check and make sure that all was good. It helps to go into this experience with an open mind and let the student do some sryling and not just do trims.
