Total bait and switch. They lock you in at a Kilowatt rate that is already higher than PECO, for 3 months. I did this on the premise of "clean energy" I was taking one for the team. Then, if you don't read the fine print and call to renegotiate your KW rate, they hike it up 30% every three months.

Hello, My name is ***** and I signed up for the service through a Best Buy location. I knew a day would come where this would occur, but did not think it was going to be this drastic. I live in Illinois. My electricity supply rates have doubled what fells like overnight, yes, with reason. It was because I was not notified or well educated by the rookie 'give free **** away to sign here' associate on the service. I had been a customer since summer of 2017 when I signed up through an event. Around September I had called to cancel because I wasn't saving anything and was offered a package for 3 more months. Decided to give them one more try. At the end of the package around end of year, I again called to cancel as I again really wasn't saving nor was I offered any better rates. This time I canceled. This is the most trash company i have ever had any dealings with. They will lie and send you outrageous bills for no apparent reason. Then when you get new service through another company at a lot lower rate they send you a final bill of $368.00 for two days worth of service.... I hate green mountain energy!!! The only reason you got one star is because it would not allow me to give you zero.

A man came to my door with a list looking for my fiance who is the homeowner, stating that my fiances' electric company had sent him to perform an upgrade for him that would allow them to reimburse him for the past 4 years of base charges incurred for the type of meter on the house. When I asked him what electric company that was he pointed to Oncore on his clipboard and began his pitch about all he needs is a certain number off his bill and he can go ahead and make the upgrade and get us this refund. I switched over to them and thought i would have a good experience. Boy was i wrong. The way they handle their billing is horrible. How is it that they send you a red bill before the payment is even due? Not only that but each time the bill came it kept going up! I was using the same amount or less? A 20 dollar charge for them reminding you they might cut it off if you do not pay on time. And if you are one day late they blow up your phone like crazy!!!! It got very irritating. Save yourself the headache and do not switch.

The last 2 months Green Mountain has decided they have the "RIGHT" to play around in my bank account. If you pay your bill on-line they fill the need to deduct $.10 in a separate transaction, then deduct my payment, then refund the $.10 back into my account. Why this happens is unknown to anyone on the face of the earth.

This company is a scam. To make a long story short, after dealings with them about a year ago that did NOT result in service with them, I had a salesman show up at my door today in which he stated "He was there to activate a piece of equipment." He went on to say that my current energy provider had sent him to my house because they are no longer providing service to this area. This person wanted information such as date of birth and last four of my social security number. Nothing was given to him, and afterwards I contacted ... read more
