I became increasingly concerned about the standards of care given to my elderly relative who had spent over a year at the home. Generally, the nurses were kind and considerate. However, there were frequent staff changes, more male staff employed which she disliked. Housekeeping and laundry were significant areas of concern. Her care plan was out of date. Standards had definitely fallen. The website did not reflect reality. Subsequently, she has moved to another home which has an outstanding accreditation.

This care home seems to have poorer standards in the past 6 months to those we experienced a year ago. The bed linen isn’t clean, the care room my mother is in is untidy. The level of care has gone down since she was first admitted in June 2022.

Mum has been a resident of Baycroft Great Baddow now for 6 months. The home has many positives. A very high standard of living accommodation with most attractively appointed rooms, public areas, gardens. The staff are friendly and caring and the home has a very pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. But, the major, major problem is the excessive waiting time for care assistance. For Mum, who is totally immobile, waits of, on occasions, 45 - 90 minutes for assistance with toileting is distressing, uncomfortable and unacceptable. A m... read more

All staff were welcoming, however, I feel this home is very new as are the staff, and many people are still finding their way. Mum was only in for a two week respite, as she has vascular dementia. She doesn't appear to have taken part in the planned activities, as during various visits by members of my mums family, she was either laying on bed or sitting in the lounge, I know it's her choice to join in, and these were ad hoc visits, but it doesn't appear she was encouraged to.
