Dr. Vinch is a very caring and compassionate Vet. She always takes great care of my little Havanese Pippa. I highly recommend the practice to anyone in the area looking for a great Vet.
Dr. Katz is amazing. I adopted an older dog and had a number of concerns (as older dogs tend to have more issues) and she carefully listened to ALL of them during our initial visit and one-by-one we discussed each and what they and I could do to address it. My two follow up visits have been just as fabulous - she listens, explains well and genuinely cares about what my old girl needs.
The doctors and staff are all very knowledgeable and caring. We went in on a Saturday for sick pet reasons. The next day, Sunday the doctor called us and told us bad news. It was a situation nobody wants to be in. She broke it to us wonderfully and gave us our options. Sadly we decided to put our animal down. Being a military family we had to leave our wonderful vet office in CA. We found ourselves in search for a new vet office in VA when our beloved 13 1/2 year old lab made a rapid decline in her quality of life and health. We love this vets office! My fiancé and I adopted our cat from the Fairfax Animal Shelter and this is the location we chose since it's just blocks from our home. The staff and vets are very friendly and knowledge. Our cat hasn't been thrilled with going to the vet(not a fan of new places and strangers) but they made sure he was comfortable and handled him in the perfect way to ensure his comfort and their safety. I had to find a new vet for my dog a few years ago because the one he'd been going to since he was a puppy closed. I happened to find out that one of the vets who used to work at the old clinic worked at Gunston and I thought I'd give them a try. It was the right choice! Dr. Hurst is wonderful with my dog and they are very thorough with their questioning and exams; only difference is they do blood draws and other lab work in the back as opposed to in the exam room (just a difference, not better or worse). We have been taking our boys to Gunston Animal Hospital and Dale City for over 10 years. I must say that Noah's Arch organization has the true love for their patients. From the Vets to the Assistants and front desk staff (our favorite is Tori).. As for ratings, don't waste your money on other clinics...They are the best in NOVA.
These guys are GREAT!! Dr. Hurst at the Gunston location in Lorton is the one I keep going back to, Dr. Vinch is good too. All the staff is friendly and helpful. All of my dogs have received treatment there, plus they always answer my calls for advice. One of my senior dogs before she died was having some serious issues and Dr. Hurst was always there to help me out with her until she passed. My girlfriend and I just moved to Lorton and adopted a cat. It is so great to have this place so close to our home. The staff are very friendly and take the time to get to know you. Dr. Vinch is very knowledgeable and has great suggestions. I would recommend Gunston Aninal Hospital to a family member or friend.
