Run far away from this veterinary "practice". I'm home recovering from back surgery and tried to schedule a simple nail clipping for my cat. Was told by the receptionist and then someone "pretending" to care for animals that because my cat's rabies vaccine expires TODAY (11/30/22) they couldn't see her tomorrow (12/1) unless they did a complete exam, including the rabies vaccine. This "practice" is about one mile from my home. Well, my cat is already scheduled to see her regular vet on 12/5 out in Fairfax City, a much longer... read more

Hi Mike, thank you for your review. We are sorry we could not accommodate your needs but we do have our protocols in place. Even if your pet is over due by one day for a rabies vaccine, which is required by law, we have to abide by our protocols. Our common sense tells us that to protect all parties involved, that we have to follow what is require by law, which is to update a rabies vaccine; for us that means that a current physical exam must also be up to date. Thank you.
This clinic used to be great, but the new (last two years) vet assistants have become a large wall between client and doctor. I lived the doctors there, and would go back in a second if they would hire different techs. I lost two dogs this year to cancer and tried to get them in for a few weeks before their death-appointments were made but the vet tech called me back EVERYTIME to tell me to take them somewhere else because the vets didn't have time for any surgeries. The vet and I had previously decided we would only underta... read more

We take your feedback seriously and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail. Unfortunately, we are unable to identify you as a client based on the account name this review is posted from though, so we kindly ask that you give us a call at your convenience. Veterinary hospitals are experiencing high volumes of pets to care for and we try to accommodate as many as we can.
Took my dog in for an infection on his paw. They just ended up giving me water mixed with alcohol and charged me $15 bucks for something I could've done at home. They didn't even look at him because they were so terrified even with a muzzle on him. This is expected as a vet, dogs get scary yes, but don't charge me anything if you literally stared at my dog and came with a conclusion that alcohol and water was the solution. Worst vet ever. Went to a animal hospital in Alexandria and they had no problem because they were... read more

Hi Monica, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit in September. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. While the spray we prescribed does include Isopropyl alcohol, the active ingredient is in fact in antibiotic: Gentamicin, a broad spectrum antibiotic. Please let us know if you would like us to reach out to you about your visit.
Not the best vet to have in a time of emergency. An appointment is really hard to get and they won't prescribe medicine without seeing the pet.
I've been going to Gunston for 18 years and would like to thank dr hurst for her caring and compassion over the years as my cats have passed on. Unfortunately she can't make up for the front office when I called this week. And I might be a little more understanding if they had been on time for my appointments more than a hand full. And the person on the front desk obviously doesn't know anything about cats. I had been trying to catch my female "hellcat" for two months to get her claws trimmed. Finally, so I called up and ... read more
DO NOT GO HERE. First of all I have a very afraid cat that was too frightened by the doctor instead of the doctor letting me calm him down she took him to the back where I dont know what happened. They needed a urine sample and said they would have to sedate him and keep him over night if they couldn't get anything. Picked him up the next day they didn't sedate him. Did nothing for him. Also he was covered in his own feces and was obviously left in his little cage the whole night. Very urged to call some sort of animal contr... read more
They charged $26 per night for a 13 lb beagle. I had to board him while my son and his wife had their first daughter at Fort Belvoir. He serves in the United States Army. They advertise military discounts but do not give them for things like boarding. I don't know how that works out but it seems rather untruthful. My son is 21 years old and has been married one year. My Grand Daughter came one week early and we didn't have arrangements in order for Hunter. So when I got there, 10 hour drive from South Carolina, I took him to... read more
Absoultely no customer service when it comes to disputing a bill. No yield at all. Ask for prices up front so you know what you are getting. Follow up visits here are not free. THEY request that you bring your pet back in for follow up, but they don't tell you that they will charge you for the visit. Just another money making business. Has nothing to do with the care of the animal. Sad.
Business response:
Our mission at Noah's Ark Animal Hospitals is to provide the highest quality veterinary medicine possible at reasonable prices. It is our desire to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care to our patients and offer the best possible service to our clients. Therefore, we appreciate any feed back that can improve our customer service.
Absolutely not.... sorry let me rephrase that... ABSOLUTELY NOT.... I can agree with George R. on the professionalism with the Doctor but that's where it ends.... Not only was I charged nearly $350 for my first visit (i expected it to be high being that my dog needed all of his shots and tests, but not that high!) but then, TWO WWWEEEEEEEEEKKKKSSS LATER, I get a letter in the mail saying that I owe them money! Supposedly, there was a shot that my dog was given that I was never charged for. I held onto the letter and whe... read more
