Lovely hotel overlooking Lighthouse Pros: This hotel is in a quiet area of Edgartown yet within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. WONDERFUL breakfast menu and great wait staff.. Cons: Not a thing..... Location: Perfect location to see old sea captains' houses, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques. Bus or private tour service. Five dear friends celebrated 75th birthdays. The setting was beautiful......we sat in the rocking chairs on the porch and admired the view. We toured the Vineyard for four hours with Cr... read more
Lovely historic hotel with spectacular views. We stayed at this idyllic location for 2 nights. The hotel sits right above the bay with access to the water and lighthouse. You can enjoy coffee on the porch and watch the spectacular sunrise. Enjoy a 5 minute stroll into town with beautiful views along the way. We will definitely be back.
Great service, bad wifi
Pros: The staff was friendly and offered tips for tours and attractions. The cottage was cozy and private. Cons: The carpet in the room had many stains, and had a musty smell. Location: Location was excellent, in walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and the lighthouse! Had a wonderful trip, looking forward to returning soon!
nice location Pros: the front porch, the free morning coffee and tea, the front desk area, the view on the porch, the staff, the location to the main street Cons: update the rooms, decrease the price Location: a very relaxing, quaint town Extremely overpriced. Great staff. Beautiful front desk area. Nice location. Relaxing. Short walk to main street. We stayed in the hotel area behind the main house. It was spacious, but very old. Not sure if it was dirty or just grungy. I was disappointed based on the photos that were shown... read more
Harbor View Hotel -gem of the island Pros: Friendly helpful staff is the first thing one notices about Harbor View. Cons: Lighting; can be dark moving around the grounds at night. Location: Martha's Vineyard is a prime vacation destination with an assortment of beach and ocean based activities. HVH is a wonderful vacation hotel with a great view, and a friendly atmosphere. Casual and laid back, this is a terrific place to spend vacation days on Martha's Vineyard.
This hotel needs TLC and new management! The Harborview is a grand hotel that needs some attention. We have stayed here in the past and have truly enjoyed it. Having read recent reviews we were hesitant to stay there again but decided to go because there was a deal on the room. Well, we found the reviews accurate regarding the staff and the condition of the facility. While it is understandable that older buildings are difficult and expensive to maintain, some paint and carpet would go a long way to make guests spending $300+... read more
