[Name removed] was an excellent host; we appreciated the information she shared and the time she spent with us. Symphony is a brand new facility (currently 9 mo old). The building is very attractive, resident rooms are spacious, the ratio of caregivers to residents it good, the list of activities is varied, the food ir given high marks, and the other amenities seem very good. My brother has a friend whose wheelchair bound father is very happy here.
We called ahead to let [name removed] know we were running late and she was very gracious. She greeted us with fruit and cookies when we arrived. It was hard for my sister to conceptualize the facility since we only had room layouts and photos. My nephew and I were a little disappointed that all levels of dementia would be together I know that many families are reluctant to place someone earlier in their dementia and I think this could make the transition more difficult for my sister. [Removed], the executive director, met with us at the near site office. Symphony is still under construction and set to be open at the end of June. We are excited to see things come together and will be putting a deposit down in the coming week. We will be visiting other assisted living and memory care locations operated by the same Milestone Retirement to see what the facilities are and how the facilities have been maintained at those locations.
When my loved one first moved in, the community was Symphony at Cherry Hill. However, recently they have been taken over by Care One, and in the last six months, there have been two increases that totaled [rate removed]. My loved one with moderate dementia needs only moderate care. When I called and asked them about the increases, they said they're hiring more people, upgrading the facility, and generally increasing their services and quality. The community looks beautiful and is kept clean, but alot of unfulfilled promises. We were told our mother would be checked on throughout the night and that clearly was not happening. I just feel that because the residents can't speak for themselves, you have to be on top of things to make sure they are happening. It's alot of money to check that they're doing their job.
Lately room cleaning and laundry services frequently have been declining. Also, it seems that staff has to be alerted more frequently about issues relative to the resident.’s physical conditions. On a scale of 1 —5 relative to value of service, at best a 2 1/2. Some what over priced.

My loved one was there for 2 years. They only did blood work 1 time that I could find. We removed her and placed her somewhere else and this new place did her blood work and we learned her blood oxygen was very low. Symphony at Cherry Hill kept saying everything was fine with her, when it was clearly not. She was seeing the doctor twice a month this whole time and never knew or figured it out while there.
