Patio needs sound panels. Noise was so loud we couldn’t converse
The food and service was very good but the noise level was very unpleasant. Al.ost impossible to have a conversation with others ar the table. Won't be back for brunch.

For a long time, Haven has been a solid choice for lunch and brunch and had bragged about it to my granddaughter. Except for the never fail beignets and good service from Stephan, this visit was quite a disappointment.  I mentioned in the reservation that it was my granddaughter's birthday, and they never acknowledged that. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and specified that I like a runny yolk. Food was great. Drinks were subpar. Busboy was very rude, trying to clear table before we were done eating, which I didn’t understand or appreciate.
We are retired and eat lunch daily typically at many of the Va highland/morningside restaurants and always have a great time. We chose to try Haven today and sat at the bar for a late lunch. The male bartender (and manager with him?) spent most of the time talking with the other 4 males at the bar and tended to ignore us (we are females). We had to ask 4 separate times for something (and the bar/restaurant was not busy). We felt like we were not welcomed at this restaurant. It's highly unusual here, but today was not a good experience from what has been one of our go-to's. From undercooked fish to overwhelmed and inexperienced staff members, we left highly disappointed by one of our regular brunch spots.
Unfortunately I guess there’s nothing you can do about loud unruly children.
