Just an employee for this one... PROS That it's easy to clock in and out. I don't have to remember a lot of steps. CONS As an employee user, I don't normally experience any interactions other than my paycheck being deposited and my time kept between paychecks.
Heartland Payroll Overall our experience has been good, it's a useful program that generally does well at what we need it to do. PROS It's great for keeping track of employee hours and managing payments, and the interfaces are extremely user friendly for the most part. Their customer service is very good as well. CONS The website occasionally has issues loading, I don't know if it's due to high traffic or some other issue, but it can sometimes be frustrating when the page is unavailable.
Great Company Direct deposit is great. I'm always able to cut an additional check if needed and my customer service rep is so helpful. PROS Great customer service, tons of additional options, always pays taxes on time CONS I wish they would have made a way for me to import my construction software that my crew clocks in and out of so I did have to do it in 3 separate software programs. REASON FOR CHOOSING HEARTLAND PAYROLL+ Had used it before with other companies i personally owned.
Heartland has lost me money and wasted my time Used to be great. Used to have reliable employees we could contact who would respond. Now it's a call center - might as well be some random overseas project given the level of personal INattention. And we have two companies working through them but are looking for a new company. PROS It's quick to use, although not user friendly even with the update. CONS So many tax errors I cannot begin to list them. Started well... Started good and ended do to heartlands non responsiveness to support or other requests. PROS we used it for years and at the beginning , Heartland provided great service for an affordable cost. Heartland payroll It was a bit trying, as what we felt were simple issues to resolve took many many phone calls to resolve. PROS Payroll platform was relatively easy to set-up and maintain. CONS Customer support was not good. Often times it was difficult to get in touch with a support person and often, when you did, the issue took a significant amount of time to resolve. Mistake riddled service Poor response to mistakes made and still to this day the mistakes made and admitted to have not been corrected. PROS Nothing at all. Their service was forgetful and slow when they did respond to me bringing to their attention their mistakes with payroll. Email communications between myself and the company did not help resolve the matter. CONS Mistakes were not reversed even though many attempts were made on my behalf to communicate those mistakes. Heartland Payroll Upgrade Until this recent upgrade I thought it was the easiest payroll product I ever used. PROS I used to love the ease of data entry. With the new upgrade, special payments take too much time as the data doesn't end up where I intend. I add an additional check and the payment ends up on the standard check. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY Not good at all. Customer Service sucks. I ask for help on an issue at the beginning of December and it is now the middle of January and the only emails the I got concerning my issue was emails the pass the buck to someone else. PROS Nothing. I would not recommend this product to anyone. CONS Everything this is hard to get through. And good luck getting anyone to help.
