Came into here for lunch today. Sat at the table and wasn't greeted by a waitress for 10 minutes. She was nice. The place definitely had a laid back vibe. I did feel like I was sitting very low in the both and it felt awkward. Started with a Avacado Humus which was solid. Then had the Backyard Burger and the Crispy Campfire Chicken Sandwich. Consistently great food ...fair prices & great services. Their location in Ft Worth is my favorite.
My all time favorite restaurant in Fort Worth! Being gluten and dairy free, I usually have to miss out on a lot of favorites but HG has EVERYTHING from df queso to gf crispy chicken sandwiches! Their staff is always so sweet and the service is 10/10. It's a little loud inside but the vibe overall is great and THAT PATIOOO is my favorite. I love love love HG!
My sister wanted to meet here for dinner. As soon as I walked in, I was in awe of the decor, ambiance, and the overall class of the place. Wow! Quickly finding her table, I immediately ordered a cup of coffee and glass of water. Even though I wasn't very hungry, I munched on the leftover French fries on her plate. They were good. Everything I've had there was exceptional expect the cashew queso. But to be fair, it's cashew queso.
Being right on the river is the reason I come to HG! The sunset toast are such a fun accompaniment to the experience! If you are looking for a night out, this place is a must!
The food was delicious, but the customer service was horrible all the way up to the manager.
I ate there this past saturday night with two other over 21 year old guests. One of our guests had a single beer and was denied service for being "too intoxicated" by Michel their bar manager. She was being extremely sexists and would serve one of the woman at the table but not the man. It was the worst service i've ever experience and i will never be coming back. The management of this location is terrible. They have all these tables along the river and they never see them even when you ask. It's so dumb. Also, I've been to four other HG Splys and the food is better at those locations. I don't know why the Fort Worth location is so terrible.
