The property is undoubtedly special with the beautiful Christmas decorations, beach ambiance and history. We enjoyed a room in the original hotel; a king suite with a private balcony that was quiet and had spectacular beach views. The food and beverage is AWEFULLY expensive and then there was the crowds. Shame on me for expecting less people !! Staff was wonderful !!
The property itself is gorgeous on the outside and the surrounding beach area is beautiful. The restaurants and shops are a bit pricey but about what we expected for this type of property. Our room had a very big gap under the door so anyone walking by sounded like they were right in our room. Also there was no microwave which was disappointing, and one corner of our bed was broken so it leaned significantly. It was ok We are an elderly couple and our rom was a very long walk from Lobby It was very very crowded so we could t even see all the holiday decor which is why we went there

It was a weekend gateway to celebrate Christmas, so you can imagine the crowd. Beautiful Christmas decorations and plenty of restaurants inside the hotel. Best time to take pictures so there is not a huge crowd will be past 10 pm. There are plenty of restaurants walking distance from the hotel that might be a bit cheaper in price. Beautiful location - but very very crowded. This is an iconic location, and beautiful. But, I don't know what we were thinking booking a Saturday in the middle of holiday season - never again. The space was completely packed. There weren't enough staff to provide for the crowd. The "reception" line ran out the door. The courtyard, which is usually beautiful in the winter, was closed to a private party. In the evening, the line for the bar snaked around the outside with (unmasked) kids and dogs everywhere.
