Easy to install, replaced JVA 2440 Decided to order this online and install it myself to save on the installation costs from my local pool supply store. I read online that this JVA 2444 is a replacement the JVA 2440 (now discontinued) that was originally installed on my Jandy system back in 2006 when the pool was built. Easy replacement Identical replacement. Installation was installing the 4 mount screws and connectiong the witing. It came with a 20 ft 3 wire cable that had the correct fitting to plug right into the circuit board. It was better than the original one installed by the Pool builder. If you are new to installing this there is a little switch on the bottom of the actuator that reverses the direction of the valve. So if you install it and it run and closes off the wrong intake just flip the switch and it reverses 180 degree.
Disappointed! The Jandy Actuator did not work when installed. Very disappointed! When I opened the box, my first thought and comment to my wife was, "this actuator looks used and rebuilt." My wife agreed. The item was then installed a few days later by a pool equipment company and was defective. The pool company installer showed me the installed actuator and it was not working. Broke after 1 week This is my second one of these, first one lasted almost a year, this one lasted a week. It maybe had 4-5 cycles on it before it quit working.
Arrived with defects. Try these out before you install them. I ordered two of them and both were defective. I'm returning these and purchasing another set, and hope they work. I'm not very confident.

Don’t buy from Pool Supply Warehouse I received this product from Pool Supply Warehouse on 5/24/20 to replace one that lasted me over 10 years.I installed it about 1 month later, towards the end of June. I used it to turn the valve so I could use my hot tub.The actuator worked fine the first day I tried it. The next time I used it, on July 8, it didn’t work.
