No clogs Water flows through this valve like s#$%^ through a goose. It never clogs. I'm positive about that.
2" male pipe OR 2.5" female fittings attach to Jandy - ether end Good enough for now, I’ll let you know more in 10 years. By way of clarification: The 2 inch pipe you glue to the inside of the valve. If you need too, you can instead (ether end) use a 2.5" female fitting end to fit over the outside of the valve in/out. Inside with 2" pipe, outside with 2.5" fitting. I could not get any information as to why the Jandy valves and valves said both sizes on the description.
I purchased two valves. Installed both. BOTH LEAK ... I purchased two valves. Installed both. BOTH LEAK! Now I have to take all the new PVC apart and start all over. Added expenses. Very poor product!
Ingenious...and Very Dependable Valve I've been servicing pools for over thirty years. When Jandy came out with this valve, it was a Godsend! Previously, we used to have to cut out the 'ball valves' that were predominantly used back then. Jandy valves save having to plumb when the 'O' rings go bad. I disagree with the description that they are "maintenance free". Eventually the lid or stem 'O' rings need to be replaced. I have a video on You Tube demonstrating how to do that, and how these valves function. If you go to my we... read more
Jandy is great, but be sure to buy the bigger one. Could save you time and effort in the future. If you need a 2 inch valve, be sure to buy the 2 - 2 1/2 inch valve, not the 1 1/2 - 2 inch valve. Either will work on Day One, but, down the line, the larger one could save you a big headache: My last pump failed after many years. The installer, in order to fit that replacement pump into the maze of pipes the pool company created, mated the pump in such a way that there was no way to reuse the piping, nor was there a way to spli... read more
REPLACED LEAKING VALVE WITHOUT CUTTING PIPES The screws allowed me to replaced a leaky valve just by replacing the top part of the valve. No pool guy or plummer needed. If your pool pump is taking in too much air, not enough suction, etc. a leaky valve might be the issue, it was for me.
Non Standard Fittings Although constructed well, these valves use uncommon dimensions so that is not possible to simply go to the local Home Depot and get the fittings necessary to connect to schedule 40 PVC and/or CPVC pipe. I recently had to disassemble pipes connected to the Jandy valve because the bushings necessary to connect it to a 3 inch pipe were leaking. I went to Home Depot, Lowe's, Ferguson's (a specialty plumbing supply house) and Leslie's pool supply and none were able to provide the necessary fittings to conne... read more
Just what I needed Was at Leslie's pool store, purchasing this same exact item. I had paid for it and walked to the parking lot. I looked it up on amazon, and found it for half the price. Never left the parking lot, walked back into the pool store and returned it for a refund. Ordered it right on my phone from the parking lot, on a Saturday morning. It arrived on the following Monday. Saved myself $50.
Not for grey water, quality manufacturing It is well made. This is how it works, the fluid enters through the downward port in the picture, then you have to choice of exiting through left, right or both. The problem here is, the fluid can't pass through straight, it will either bend 90 deg towards left or right of both. I wanted to use it in a sewer diversion to a gray water filter system, so I wanted the choice of passing the fluid either in a straight line or 90 degree. This is not made for that kind of use, so I bought "V... read more
