This critique deals with manager and server communication and the misleading advertising on the menu regarding happy hour. The cost of the meals purchased were appropriate and the food was great. The issues I have deal with being asked by the manager if my party was celebrating to which he was told we were. Had reservations for early dining and taken right to our table. Appetizers which were excellent, brought immediately. Then, it all fell apart! We noticed that the people beside us who had arrived after us received a complimentary dessert without receiving their main course. Much laughter between the manager and the tablemates. The service was fine, except when we were getting the bill, took almost 20mins. The burger I had was too salty, even the bacon was extremely salty.

We found this to be a an extremely expensive experience for a very underwhelming experience. Our service was decent, she was nice enough but seemed quite disconnected to our experience. Very little recognition or offer around my mom’s birthday. Food portions were shockingly small considering the price point. My son’s meal was so salty it was nearly not edible. Everything was great except it was very noisy from full restaurant to screaming baby for over 20 minutes. They let the baby scream and didn’t take the baby outside to calm down or distract the baby. I have grandchildren, I get babies.

I have to say that I have gone to Joey’s all over (Canada and US). I like taking customers there for the consistency in food and service. It’s always a predictable experience. I knew things weren’t going to go well when we seated in a standard 4 top despite asking for a nice booth for my customer’s birthday celebration. Food overall was good, but the fried mash potatoes spring roll with the steak was not. It was very oily and not palatable. The peppercorn on the steak made it very salty. It is usually my wife's favorite but at that point she was just hungry and didnt want to complain to much as it was her birthday. Did mention to the waitress but she said she could send another one. Did not want that again as it was already late.
