The price of a strawberry mocktail was absolutely ridiculous! I had asked for a zero-alcohol margarita, But they were out of the syrup. Instead, the server suggested a strawberry grapefruit mocktail. It was good, but absolutely NOT worth the cost. The amount of liquid inside the glass was equal to that of one shot. With ice. I mentioned this to the manager, But this should absolutely be revised and reconsidered from the menu.
Very loud club music. Very off putting for the environment.
Overall the experience was poor. Food was acceptable but expensive for the quality and unfortunately the kitchen missed 2 out of 6 meals. The staff did not appear to take any urgent steps to correct, this making the guests wait an additional 20 minutes before receiving the main courses ordered. Drink orders took a while to arrive. Simple items like beer and wine. Overall this is a very expensive place to dine for poor quality. Our table for 6 was awkwardly laid out making conversation difficult.
I have to say we have always loved our experience at Joey’s, which is why we have come back multiple times to the location in Ottawa and Toronto Last night was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had in a long time. Our server was lazy, rude, seemed bothered, approached our table to take our order with multiple dirty dishes in her other hand, laid her iPad down on our table and didn’t even look at us. Wine was served in dirty glass they replaced upon request but no compensation Waited close to an hour for main after app. Table beside us seated after us had their food before us Chicken parm barely any parm spaghetti was lumped and stuck together
I don’t know how many times we made a point via reservation and calling in advance that it was a special occasion birthday and to treat the group nicely. They had terrible service, there was no attention and may delays in even having server come and bring items or check on th em. No service with a smile. I’ve been to Joey’s many times and I was disappointed in the service. Our server didn’t seem happy to be working. The place wasn’t busy at all and it took her a long time to come see us. I took my usually yellowfin tuna salad. Price went up and the portion of the tuna shrunk considerably. It was still very good but disappointing when it’s not $31 before taxes and tip when it used to be around $23. I usually take pictures to share in IG, was so disappointed on the size that I didn’t bother taking one.
I have already sent a note to Brianne about the experience.
Get our bill took longer than expected. 4th meal was 5 minutes after the other 3. Small things but could be tidied up.
