Overall the experience was fair. The food was ok - I am surprised that the meal portions keep getting smaller at Joey's. I ordered the tofu bowl and paid almost 30$ for half a cup of rice and literally 5 tiny pieces of tofu. The value is not there and I will not be returning.
Food was mid, nothing special. A bit expensive. I ordered the udon carbonara and it was so salty to the point I kept drinking water after every bite and I told the waitress and she said “it’s suppose to be like that” to which I think her respond was not nice at all because she was not the one to taste the food and I’ve had this dish before and it was never this salty. Overall ambience was nice, service was okay and food was okay.
Took 15 minutes to be seated even after having a reservation and showing up on time. Took another 15 minutes for wait staff to get drink orders (not even water was served until after wait staff arrived at table to get drink orders), appetizers came with main course together, but this was rectified upon our request. One alcoholic beverage came with a dead fruit fly in it, notified wait staff and received a new drink, but did not comp the drink in the end. Booked a reservation for 5:00pm but still had to wait on our table. Server was awful, we waited ten minutes for her to bring us menus and another ten minutes to bring us water. After ordering, she asked about allergies and I stated pepper flakes. She acknowledged that and completed the order. Once our meal arrived, my dish had a significant amount of pepper flakes in it. DO NOT eat upstairs at Joey's Sherway, worst experience. I went on NYE and it was freezing. I couldn't take my parka off, my food came to the table and we wanted to wait until everyone got their food, it got cold waiting for other entrees. The have blankets on each chair because they know its not the right temperature up there. Never again. Joey's yorkdale upstairs seating is beautiful and warm, I'll go there next time.
It was so insanely cold. Could not enjoy the experience at all. Close the rooftop you guys are unreal for putting customers through that.
Service was poor. Sat upstairs at a high top close to the windows and it was freezing cold. Made for an uncomfortable experience.
