Get directionsSmall, easy to get around - and covers all the bases for a small zoo. Of course I bought a membership because my son loves Stingrays, saw them once, then they all died. I will not buy another membership, because that was the pull for us. Next year our money will go to an aquarium.
We did a behind the scenes tour & my daughter also did the penguin feeding! It was a great experience. Our tour guide, Jen, was fun & informative. David helped my daughter feel at ease with the penguins! Thanks John Ball Zoo for a great time �
My husband and I came here when we visited Grand Rapids this weekend!! This was a smaller zoo then we where use to because we usually go to Detroit zoo but I loved how it had hiking trails and there was so much nature around!! I did feel that the lion and tiger should have had a companion and the otter water was green and dirty! Some of the exhibits where not open we did go on a Monday and September 19th! Over all I was very impressed

I was a student in the last class at Zoo School in the old trailer. I loved the zoo then. I've visited a couple times since then, but not in several years. Took my 4 kids (ages 10-17) yesterday. I even got a family membership. I am so impressed with the changes they've made! The animal enclosures are getting more natural every year. Things are so much more interactive and informative.
