We chose John Knox Village because I was in a desperate situation when dad was getting out of the hospital. The facility came recommended to me so we went to check them out and they had some deals going on that made it the perfect price for him. The apartment sizes here are great, his set up could not be better. They offer plenty of activities for the residents and I hope he will start getting more involved with those. We toured this community and it is an older facility that looks good. There were interactions between residents and staff and they answered all of our questions
Our family had an in person tour, and we really loved John Knox community. The only reason we chose to go with another community was the call back communication. We were in a time crunch with our loved one and the other community called us very consistently to check in, whereas I was constantly playing phone tag with the assisted living team here. However, the director on the independent living side was incredible, she was on top of everything during our tour.
I would tell others to look into independent living. It is nice to have family nearby. The rent includes housekeeping and a meal credit. The restaurant is on premises. They have elevators available for the residents.
We toured this community and it was very nice. There were lots of residences here and we were looking for something smaller.
I moved in a year ago, so I was able to get involved in some activities before the virus came along, they had plenty of activities. They are currently building some new apartments that will be two bedrooms, but some of the other ones I have seen are nice size, they have plenty of different sizes to choose from. I have a dog and I love walking him by the lake and golf course, I have actually made some friends this way. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others who are looking.

Since COVID there are no activities, beforehand there was a lot. There was music and a bunch of other things they had to offer. I really like my apartment, it is well designed. The carpeting is brand new, I have a beautiful sun room with a balcony that is enclosed with windows that open. In the winter time it is heated and air conditioned in the summer. It looks out over a beautiful park. The bedroom and living room are very spacious, it has a very nice kitchenette, and the largest bathroom i have ever had.

This is one of the top five places someone should look at depending on what level of care you are looking for. They have 5 restaurants, so there is a lot to choose from. They are very accommodating. There is a wide variety of floor plans some include garages. I live in a duplex. This is a pet-friendly community and it is very soundproof. You can just rent or buy-in. It is really hard with the virus. There are so many activities that we moved here for that are on hold. The size of the apartment is not that important. You are not in your unit that much because there is so much to do. People are so friendly and welcoming. The food is good and there are lots of options. We moved here as my husband was recovering from a stroke. He is doing so much better, using the pool and exercise room.
