I made it very clear the last 6 months I wanted my entire commission to be allocated to the transaction whether that be buying down our rate, HOA initiation etc. The week of closing I get the closing disclosure and there’s over $2000 left over from my commission. BETTER COMMUNICATION. Joy seemed very reluctant to give advice when prompted by questions we had. Also sometimes her answers to the questions that were asked were very cryptic.

team members spoke in a condescending manner not just to me, but to my husband and realtor as well. My questions weren’t a priority until it became an issue for the team, for example, locking in the rate when I suggested vs lender when no further progress on the home was made. rarely were we given a heads up that we would be hearing from associates of the lender until after they contacted us for important info. I’ve just had better experiences with other lenders, personally.

Overall Joy was great on her role. I wish we would have had a bit more of direction as a first time owners acquiring a new build. I think it would be helpful to advise a bit more on how time frames would affect the interest, based on time closing (we didn't know this as a first time buyers). I had my credit running twice because someone left a process incomplete. This was my 4 mortgage. I’ve never struggled with the process or understand what was going on step by step, but nothing was ever clear to me. I was asked the same questions over and over and over again by different people. This may be the new world we live in. Joy is extremely nice, but I’m still in touch with my loan officer from my last mortgage from 5 years ago and I told her on more than one occasion how much harder this seemed.

Learning to pronounce my name properly would have been appropriate since we worked together for many months on this loan due to builder delays. Also when I had to make changes during the process, there was a lot of judgement and borderline rude comments. The overall communication was timely and adequate, but I did not feel valued and would have changed bankers if there were not a financial incentive to stay with this banker.
