If the lender had been more proactive with offering suggestions that would have been helpful at saving on the loan. Such as a rate lock, buying points etc. I always had to bring up the topics.

In regard to my experience, there was a lack of communication, explanation, and enthusiasm. I wasn't told the process while purchasing the house, this was frustrating being a first time homebuyer. I often felt I was bothering my agent instead of her wanting to assist me through the process. Furthermore, when explanation was provided there was condescension because she had to explain things. The level of detail is nit picky any unnecessary. Can get a similar rate doing bare minimum.

We were given the wrong closing location on our email, so we drove an hour and a half out of the way. I wish someone would have communicated more about the location and time of closing. Also, our final numbers were not sent until 3am the morning of closing. Fortunately, everything worked out fine, but the whole situation was unnecessarily stressful. Other than closing day, Kristy was helpful during our phone conversations and answered all of our questions.

As a first time homebuyer, I felt that communication was lacking. Everything worked out the way it was supposed to, it just felt like we went from Step 1 to Step 5 directly, while being in the dark about Steps 2-4. An example would be the appraisal contingency ending, and a decision wasn't returned until the day of the expiration.
