We were the first people in the restaurant at 10:30. The floor of our table was covered in smashed tomatoes moved to another table and that floor was not much better. Looked around and all the floors looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. My feeling is a clean atmosphere means a clean kitchen. When we received our food it was cold. And toast was completely black on one side. You would think being that it was not busy at all that the kitchen would be producing nice hot and unburned food. We won’t be returning . They sat us by the bathroom and there was a very strong smell of chemicals. I am allergic to that type of stuff and ultimately gave me asthma. This is unacceptable and made the experience unpleasant. Our server was nice but also the drinks were basically water and ice and the pizza was not even sliced. This is a health issue and I hope they refund my dinner.

We booked a table after we saw La Pastaia on KUSI promoting Restaurant Week. Upon arrival at 1130, we’re told that the Restaurant Week menu doesn’t start until 3pm even though we had called the day prior day to confirm. The man in the front didn’t seem to care much and had an ‘oh well’ response to the situation. Had no choice but to eat there since we were meeting friends there. We were really disappointed. It was the worst Valentine’s Day dinner I’ve ever experienced. They had glasses on the table for water but no water. When the waitress came over to our table she started apologizing because they were out of half of the appetizers (only ones we were interested in). Furthermore, they were out of 2 of the 3 desserts. We went for Valentine’s Day. The restaurant had a dedicated 3 course menu for the night. We were seated at 7pm. We placed our order for the 1st course. 15-20min later our waiter told us the 2 items we ordered were now Out of Stock.. the other options were not appealing to us. 2/14/24 with fixed menu. Crowded and loud. Reservations at 8pm Seated fairly quickly but service declined quicker. Majority of servers and bus people were great but seems like management added tables or miscalculated. We didn’t like the food..The salad had too much dressing and both of our pastas were extremely oily. The tiramisu was just cream. We had heartburn and indigestion the whole night after dining there. The only good thing was the excellent service by Rafael.
