First went here for lunch and loved it! The tea leaf salad is wonderful and the service is very good! Went the second time for dinner and had another great experience. The salmon was delicious, as was the Ruby's shrimp and mango chicken. The eggplant was very good. The catfish was just so so -- too many bones to enjoy so didn't finish it. We've been here several times and continue to bring visitors. The experience is always consistently excellent. Quick food service, great food flavor and great staff. I find a new favorite dish every time. Coconut Rice is delicious. Latest favorite is the Yellow Tofu with Red Curry. Very good.

I was very disappointed with Rangoon. Their tea salad lacked the citrus from lime and was dry. Their curries did not vary and it tasted as though they used the same curry for all the dishes and just changed the ingredients put into the curry. The place was so noisy that we had to shout at our table to talk to eachother. Rangoon is not even close to Mingalaba in Burlingame. Would give Rangon Ruby 5 stars but for one issue. The ambience, service and food are all wonderful but it was horrendously noisy- 5 bombs for sure. Impossible to carry on a conversation. It's a small place so don't know there's anything you can do about it. But if you value conversing with friends I would eat outside if the weather's okay.

The first edition of this restaurant remains in Palo Alto and is also superb. HIghly recommended for prompt and very attentive service, large menu with an excellent selection, not to mention the food is especially tasty and not commonly found in other restaurants: pea leaves were over-the-top as was pork and pumpkin stew,

Burmese food is a fusion of Indian, Chinese, Malay and Thai flavors and Rangoon Ruby does an excellent job of displaying it in their dishes. This is my second visit. We were a group of six and had cat fish soup, raw mango salad, the salmon, lamb with basil, chicken Kabat, and Garlic Noodle. I have been here and to the PA location several times. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I've never been to a restaurant where everything I try is amazing. I could eat here every night!!

We started with the samosas which were large and very tasty. The Black Tea salad is a combination of many tastes and textures; this is really a must try dish. We also shared the chicken pumpkin stew and the lamb kubet, which is similar to Mongolian lamb. It should be noted that this is a wine only establishment, no bar, Nice selection but a bit pricey. The staff was very helpful in making selections and clearing dishes. Noise level rose as the place filled up. We definitely plan on returning to try some other food items.

We've been to Rangoon Ruby several times. The food is consistently good, with unique spicing and sauces. We have been working our way down the menu. Their signature dishes, including the tea leaf salad, are always tasty and very special. The service is outstanding, timely and responsive. Good wine list and draft beer list.
