Average food. Average service. Uncomfortably loud and tables way too close together.
I love this restaurant, I usually request a table by the window. I cannot have lunch or dinner without ordering the Tea Leaf Salad, it is one of the super stars of the menu and we never ever have left overs. This is one of my favorite local restaurants and whenever I have someone from out of town visiting, I take them here because I know it will be a home run each time. This last time my guest ordered the coconut water and it truly was coconut water served in the coconut itself, delicious and gorgeous!.
This is the fourth time I've been to Rangoon Ruby. It's better each time I return. Must have the Tea Leaf Salad on each visit.
Food and service were great. Noise level was very high, unfortunately.
Appetizers were excellent; sesame beef is addictive...hated the broccoli dish which tasted of acrid burned garlic...in some areas the tables are too too close together so the servers can barely squeeze by and it's difficult to enjoy conversation because strangers are about 10 inches from your table...all in all nice food, but ambience could use tweaking..
Since it was our first time there we let the server order for us. We had a few apetizers including salad which were outstanding. The entries were equally good.
Love the food here - will definitely be back. The Burmese Chicken Salad is one of my favorites! We were there on a Saturday night so it was packed, and while the noise level was loud at that time, you could still each other talk. The service was awesome!
This was our 6th time eating here. We have several favorite dishes that do not disappoint: tea leave salad (a delight of flavors and textures), basil chili beef, mango chicken and kebat shrimp. The service has always been very good and ambiance is light and modern. Even though it is a smallish place, they make the most of their space.
So crowded and so loud but food and service were worth it. I would go next time before 6 or near 8 so the noise level might be better
