Easy process since I was an existing customer. Please note that Liem was an extraordinary loan officer, Communicating, following up on-time etc. My dis-satisfaction is the lack of clarity upfront that I had to pay points for the lower interest rate when the market rate was already low.
Promises where made at the initial contact that I had to complain Repeatedly in order for them to be followed through on. Penny mac had the wrong phone number but never thought to try the alternate number. I gave Penny Mac all of my information multiple phone numbers but somehow the loan processing Agent didn’t have access to the right one. The closing cost at signing were off by a 1000 Dollars! So I had to refuse to pay and then negotiate over the phone. Giant bureaucracy, needs major reform.
I’m only allowed 500 characters? You don’t want to know then. 4 1/2 hr application process to re-do an app that started in March. A processor who tells me to go to another lender to get a rate to see if they can match it, and then 3 CD’s, all incorrect, with no actual explanation as to why we went from needing to bring in $900, to getting $1500 cash back, to needing to bring in $232 an hour before the closing. Terrible experience. I’m a mortgage underwriter, and an existing customer. Terrible.

Liem did an outstanding job keeping me updated with the status of the closing and preparing me for the closing itself. He was a pleasure to work with and made what can be a confusing experience very easy! He did a great job!

In general it was a good experience, but I was asked for the same documents more than 1 time. In addition my preferred mode of communication was not respected. Mr. Lee was good at keeping me informed, but he kept calling instead of sending e-mails. I also trusted the system to submit documents better than emailing them to Mr. Lee, but I was asked to emailing them instead.
Everything was easy and straightforward. Communication was prompt and clear.
Very professional and and efficient service. I would gladly recommend PennyMac to anybody looking for a company that offers great service to its customers.
