Nothing to write about, the process worked
I want to thank the AWESOME team at Pennymac for the seamless process online and on phone contact that made refinancing our home process easy, and offered great guidance throughout the entire process. I really enjoyed logging into the refinance dashboard and see what the next step was. This team made it seem so easy and helpful to bring it to a close. Albert
The process was easy. There were not multiple emails requesting different documents. All the requests were handled with one or two emails, which was nice.
From start to finish, all procedures were explained and assistance was given to me as needed. Such a significant process felt so easy to me and I am most grateful. Thank you to Liem and all the team members Who made this possible for me.
When I bought my Condo 2+ years ago, I didn't have to chase down copies of Insurance from my HOA, etc. Everything was pretty much done for me. I used a local Mortgage guy here in Woodbury, MN. so maybe that is why. It seemed I had to do more work & follow up from my end when I think PennyMac could have done some of this, as my current Mortgage was with you guys & you handle my escrow. I wonder if maybe I should've used Rocket Mortgage if I had to do so much work...
Everything went smoothly. Refinancing with the same mortgage company without shopping around was a mistake and likely paid too much for the loan. There isn't any existing customer loyalty so I advise introducing competition. Interest rate was good and fair.
We had issues from the beginning. I was told initially no appraisal would be required. Which was one of the main reasons I proceeded. Only to be told after the fact it would be required. Then the appraiser under assessed my square footage and overall price of the home. Causing my rate to go up and my closing costs. I had trouble getting explanations I had about certain costs on the mortgage along with escrow questions. Also my paperwork was lost in mail with every piece of personal info.
My officer was nice and clear with my loan process thank you very much
