"Constantly Misleading" Absolutely horrible experience purchasing a vehicle, constant run-around. Was texting with sales rep to purchase a car, provided year, model, and price we were looking for. Sales rep confirmed that would work. Went to dealership to sign paperwork, turns out that he "misunderstood" and set it up for a different year vehicle, so he couldn't give us the price that was IN WRITING for the one we wanted. "Same old sleazy car salesman experience" We bought a 2015 Nissan Altima SL from the dealership about a month ago. It started out all right, the salesperson appeared helpful if not knowledgeable. Then when it came time to negotiate the price and inspect the car and complete the sale, they tried to hide defects, add unnecessary charges, and avoid their duties to make the car fit for sale. "Unsafe Company" Lithia Nissan of Eugene sold my husband and I a Nissan Frontier with a broken leaf spring that had a zip tie, clamps, and previously tape as a repair. We only took this truck to Nissan for repairs and oil changes and they never said anything about the leaf spring. The truck started to become really bumpy when going at higher speeds so we took it to Les Schwab because we thought it might be a tire issue. "Had my truck serviced under warranty " What a crock of #*%~ the warranty is! This place not only replaced the whole part do to a plastic clip breaking it was not covered under my warranty do to being plastic. The warranty center mislead me and told me I had to tow the car to a Lithia dealer, 94 mi from my home. They did not cover the tow. They also gave the truck back without vacuuming the truck, heater vent hanging down under steering column. So unhappy with the whole experience. Saw a used truck on-line and contacted the dealer to make sure the vehicle was still available. I talked with James Hunt. I wasn't able to make it in that day and so called again the next day to make sure the truck was still available. I was 1.5 hours from the dealership, so I didn't want to make the long drive if the vehicle wasn't there. James assured me he would call if the vehicle was not available before I left. We called before driving 300 miles to see the car we wanted. Salesman told us it was perfect except 2 small rock chips. He lied. The interior was in shambles.
Be careful and check your engine compartment every time you get oil service. I have an 05 Altima that has life oil change on it. It seems to me that they take less care while servicing older cars. The first time my mechanic discovered that the air filter compartment was not secure and today I had my oil changed and checked when I was at Safeway and sure enough it was unlatched again! These people are wonderful. The sales staff treated me well and didn't push. The bargaining was pleasant and fair. Just one complaint....there is a cup holder between the seats that was broken, and it is an expensive fix. We didn't notice it until we left the car lot. When I called I was told it wasn't covered on the cars original warranty or theirs. I will have to fix it myself it is a common problem with my car. I love Nissan products! It is a great car manufacturer, but the service I received was worst than poor. I felt manipulated and was treated bad. I wish I had gone to Kendall where I always received an honest and caring customer service. My experience at Lithia Nissan was a joke compared to the one I had previously experienced at Kendall. I hope that their service department is better than their sales department!
