I have visited Luce's many times for lunch and happy hour and have always enjoyed the food. The staff go out of their way to make the visit as pleasing as possible. The patio is lovely, the bar is cosy, and the main dining room is very pleasant and they also have a private room for large parties. We took our work team there for lunch to celebrate a couple of birthdays. The setting was elegant, yet comfortable. The food was phenomenal; the service was excellent. Attention was given to every detail! I've eaten there in the past for special dinners, but the special lunch was just as awesome!
For the most part, the food was fabulous. Our appetizer was a shrimp dish with a fabulous lemon sauce. It was great. My first bite of Caesar salad tasted like lettuce. So did my second. It was though they forgot to put any dressing on it. So I asked for more dressing and got it. However, the dressing was so bland that it still didn't do much for the taste. I have been to Luce for a Valentine's Dinner with a preset menu which was outstanding. This visit we chose from the menu with a wide variety of selections. Both our meals were delicious....meatloaf and a chicken dish with artichokes and lemon sauce. I will definitely be back.
Food very good, service excellent. Very nice, relaxed atmosphere.
Everything was great, from the service to the dessert and everything in between. Had one of the best meatballs I've had, EVER. Will definitely be back during my visits to San Antonio, wish I had something like this in Oklahoma City!
Everything was very good however there was not enough linguini to go with the very good clam sauce. Also, they had a very limited selection of beer -- no India Pale Ale at all, and no Guinness. Being a beer drinker with many wine drinking friends, I would not go back on my own.
