Steer clear of the Highland Village Madison Reed Color Bar. A new stylist messed my color up terribly because she refused to listen to me or the other stylist who had done my hair in the past. I thought it would be an easy fix and returned unperturbed because it happens. The new manager Alyssa immediately YELLED at me saying I was imagining the black streaks in my red hair. It was shocking behavior! I'm going to try another location before giving up on Madison Reed but wow!

Came in for the first time after thinking about it for a while and I don't think I'll come again. I walked in and sat down for a while without even so much as being greeted by the hair artists working. I went in for a root color and was initially told "my roots might be too grown", mind you, I barely have a few grays here and there and nothing noticeable. I went in today to get my color treated hair lightened (medium to medium dark brown) along with a root touch up. I also mentioned I have red undertones and didn't want it red. I also explained that my hair was dyed too dark a year ago and have not tried to correct it because I was unsure how that would turn out. My color took 15 minutes to apply and was put in by one person. She was super nice! Another person washed, conditioned and blow dried my hair. It took her about an hour to do all that.She was a little rough but it was looking good so I didn't say anything. It turned out great. The color was phenomenal. I was thinking this could be a great place for me to start coming to. The total cost was $180 I paid that on a card and then handed $40 cash over as tip. Came in for a grey coverage root touch up and the colorist ended up dying my whole hair. I wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't for the fact that I had blonde highlights with a dark brown root so now my hair is just dark brown all over when it took me several salon visits and a lot of money to get to that light color for my highlights. I had an appointment for an all over color with balayage and face framing highlights. When I went in, Yesenia said that doing highlights would achieve the look I'm looking for, which is to go lighter than my virgin hair color. So I went with her suggestion and went home with brassy highlights to which she knew was pretty bad and suggested that if I didn't like them when I went home and to try it out for a day that i can return to get it fixed given that it was already late in the evening to get it fixed right then and there.... read more

I was happy the first couple of years with the color, I was always using the same color just for roots touchup; however, after 1.5 years I experienced hair loss exactly where I was getting my retouch. I have a lot of hair, I was being charged double, and now I can see my bald sports, I'm using all kinds of hair growth treatments, but it is taking forever... don't use them, it doesn't worth your money or the hair loss. Hear me out- I decided to color my hair before the holidays at a salon as a way to make sure that my color looked nice. Also I noticed that you can either style your own hair, or pay extra to have a stylist do it for you. I thought I would pay a little extra for the stylist to blow dry my hair (I usually let my hair air dry).
