Tried this salon a few times but the service is pretty mediocre . The inconsistent service including greeting , offer of tea , putting on barrier cream before actual color application varies by person. For those wanting salon spa experience this wouldn't be the place but for quick color and go ( no styling offered)

I am not thrilled with the quality of work. I do a better job of dyeing my own roots. I only needed the roots touched up around my face. And there is still some gray present. OMG.

Today was my 3rd time there getting my roots done. First visit was good enough that I signed up for membership. Second visit was not as good. I got there only to find out that they helped a customer who they thought was me. They eventually sorted it out so I didn't think much of it, though I thought that was strange. The root touch up itself was good, until after washing. It took me a very long time to remove colors that got on my skin. My skin started to turn red from wiping too much and too hard. I was super disappointed with the atmosphere which seemed a bit racial and then having to cancel this appointment after a hundred (joking) ad's on my social media feeds. I booked "Roots to Ends" professional coloring" but the forgot to detail that this excluded bleach or lightening of hair color. I was not even acknowledged for maybe 5 minutes EVERYONE stared as I walked in as though I had a disability () then when the gentleman approached he did not say Hi may I assist you with anything? This is the most unorganized, rude, and unprofessional Madison Reed location. I had a 1pm appointment. When I got there, I was not greeted, and after I had patiently waited 15 minutes over my appointment, then I asked (quietly and politely) a short portly Latino colorist about it and his response was "I know you are here. We are running behind." When I asked how much longer, he said "we'll get to you when we do. There is no point talking to me anymore or I'll be later." Today was my fourth appointment in Sunnyvale for roots only; except for the first appointment when I did roots and blowout and was done properly , the rest of three times it was below average; the rinse was not done properly each time I left with colour at the base of my scalp and today at my fourth appointment In addition to the poorly washed colour, I stayed with my colour one hour and thirty minutes instead of 45 minutes as the hairdresser was busy fon B someone's else's roots.. the colour I have right now on my roots ... read more

Made appt at Sunnyvale location even though Stanford is closer. Usually have my hair done in San Diego but was happy with my first visit to MR Sunnyvale with colorist Angelo so decided to give it another go. I called customer service after I made my appt, to request Angelo but he does not work on Sundays. So I asked for Travis. I again made another call before making the 1/2 hr drive down to Sunnyvale to confirm the appt was with Travis. I'm guessing this place works well for natural coloring on top of grey. I liked the way the scheduling worked and that they have a lot of locations and reasonable prices and good technology integration. I appreciate that they try to use natural coloring. I care a lot about natural products and use them for my makeup and avoid phthalates and everything else both for myself and the environment. Today I walked in with my 18 year old special needs daughter. I believe because she was special needs, the man with the lavender beard tried to dissuade us from staying. First he told me that they only take 18 year olds and above. When I told him she was 18 years old, he said they did not do blond and did not do pink (balayage). This was very disappointing.
