Absolutely terrible experience at Madison Reed Thousand Oaks. I will never go back! I scheduled a root touch up. The "colorist" painted the hair dye on my hair but also on about 1/2 inch of my skin going all along my hairline. This badly stained my skin and despite two days of trying to scrub the dye off my skin and ears it still won't come off. just drove across town to come get my color. when I got here front door was locked. no one in sight. their own website and google is showing their location opened until 6pm. its either opened and the person took off or it's actually close. either way.. it's really annoying.

absolutely gutted. chunks of my already thin hair falling out. Hair I couldn't afford to lose. I left the salon and cried in my car. They we're texting the GM and I was surprised to still pay full price. I hate doing my roots and was so excited to find a place by my house and now I will never go back.

I was in need for root touch up so I thought Madison Reed was a great place to try. I walked in and asked if I can get roots colored. The girl registered me in on a computer and made the appointment. 5 minutes later while waiting I received a call and had to leave. When I told the girl she said I would have to pay a cancellation fee or 20%. I was appalled and left. Truly one of worst hair appointments I've ever been to. I arrive and two clients already there and staff is two. No manager. No receptionist. One person takes me to seat after brief wait and says so "we doing the same color". I've never been there before? I take time to explain two key things 1) My skin stains very easily and barrior important and 2) Gray on sides needs to be put on carefully so sections are not totally missed as I have long hair. If I could give ZERO star I would! I am sitting outside of the hair salon right now while writing the review crying because I feel like an idiot. I request a drastic hair color change. I wanted to be orange and even showed a picture of myself when I used to have orange hair saying I want that and explaining that I wanted really the orange to be bright and flashy. This Westlake location lacks customer service. The parking is horrendous! The Topanga Canyon Location you have to pay for parking and the last time I showed up, no one canceled my appointment, even though their sinks were clogged. The product has to be applied every two weeks or fades too quickly. Time to go back to a real beauty salon. Done with Madison Reed! Go to a salon, where they can actually cut your hair, stylet, and color it.

I tried hard to inquire and potentially book an appointment with the salon. It took me several attempts to reach anyone by phone. When I did, it was clear I was in a call center which had no idea what salon I was calling about. I had to explain multiple times where the salon is located including the state and that it was in Southern California. That's fine I could be patient.
