Love going to places that are in old homes, aren't chains,etc. and a nice dining experience w/o being too stuffy.The food was average. Extremely disapoinbted that my fabulous dinner leftovers were put into styrofoam container...tacky and totally gross..Expect much more from Gilmore...if you do not know where to get great paper post consumer recyclable containers contact the Pearl Street Cafe in the Holiday Inn on Pearl Street..have the best containers. Shocked when waitress handed me a styrofoam container with my wonderful meal...went straight into the trash when I got home. We spent almost $140 for 4 and had to throw all our left overs away. Everyone at our table was disappointed with their food. My Alfredo sauce was like water. Our waitress was so nice I felt bad saying how horrible it was. This is our first bad expierience here and we were pretty bummed. Not so sure we'll be back anytime soon:( because we love the ambiance and romantic feeling there
Thought we would splurge for our Anniversary as we have never been to Mangiamos before. The food was ok, I had the parmesan crusted chicken, the chicken was good but the linguini and sauce were very spicey, couldn't finish it. My husband had the whitefish and his comment was that it was ok. We had the complimentary pumpkin bread pudding for dessert which was a very nice gesture but it was rather taseteless. Overall, we would not recommend this place to other people for the cost of the entrees. Thankyou.
Overall menu selection was poor in choices for pastas & entrees in general. Food quality was average at best. Seafood pasta sauce was more soup than sauce & ended up on my shirt.
A friend and I sat on the deck on a Thursday afternoon. Walking us through the dining room to get us outside and we were able to see that they weren't busy. The deck had more tables sat, but (from perspective as a server) still looked manageable. It took 10 minutes (I remembered how long the wait was only because we had a reservation and were a couple minutes late) to get greeted. Since we moved to GR four years ago people have told us to eat at Manigiamo's. I don't know why the food is mediocre at best. I would not recommend this to people who enjoy real Italian food.
Fried calamari and pizza were good. Pastas (seafood linguini, papardelle) were uniformly tasteless. Eggplant parm was mediocre. Caesar salad is like a from a cafeteria. Garlic bread sticks were not garlicky. All in all tastes like senior citizens or heart patient food.
Disappointing. We had a 6:00 pm reservation, arrived at 5:50 pm, and were seated immediately. That was all that went right. Our waitress, Victoria, took our order, and disappeared....for the next 40 minutes. Our salad then arrived. 15 minutes later, we received bread. Another 20 minutes after that, our meal. Victoria's personality never arrived. We planned to take advantage of the 4 for $40 special that was advertised, but found out that meant we could only select one dish.
