We reserved a table for 4 which in reality was maybe just right for two people when I expressed that the table was too small and requested a change, the waitress made no effort to change. It was almost funny to see how waitress almost expected us to hand her our dishes so she could set the next dish on the too small table.
Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Food was very mediocre. Margarita pizza was bland. Cheese was without Flavor and tomatoes were too thick. Kids chicken was ok. Server brought stale potatoe chips for side. Eggplant Parmesan Was greasy and flavorless. Also dish and side were just Barely warm. Salad was green, fresh and flavorful. I had the scallops and they were gritty and cold. Did not taste good at all!
The food for the most part was fine. One meal in our party of for was not very good, the pizza had no sauce or cheese and was very dry. We were not asked once during our meal if anything could be done for us. The server was very slow and not very attentive. It was disappointing as in the past we have had good luck at this restaurant.
Waiter was assigned a large group in addition to our table and it was quite clear he didn't have time for us. Waiter made a point that everything was made as requested so I asked for no peas but it came with peas. Waiter didn't come back to the table for at least 20 minutes after we were served and when I pointed that out to him he never apologized, just emphasized that he HAD written it down for the kitchen. Over 10 minutes from seating until our beverage order was taken. Had to flag him down to ask for the check.
I had heard great things about Mangiamo! for months. I have friends that worked there and many who have dined there. It was a no brainer to decide to hold my birthday dinner there. Since I am a college student, the BOGO meal on the day of your birthday was a great deal for us. Food just didn't have much flavor- very bland. We felt like it came out of a box. It wasn't overdone, just not something I'd pay for again.
Service was slow. I thinkthe waitress forgot about our desert. Food was average at best.
We really wanted to like this restaurant, but our entire experience was extremely mediocre. I'm pretty sure my husband's linguine had canned seafood in it and mine was overly garlicky and salty. It was definitely not worth a $70 bill in the end.
