My wife and I love Metro and eat here often. I do have to say that eating outside is way better then inside. The problem is that it's getting cold now and we will probably stop going here until spring. The food is the same inside and outside but the atmosphere outside is so much better that it feels like a different place when forced to eat inside.
Nothing Special. The staff could be friendlier. The Hostesses are not friendly at all which leaves a bad first & last impression. Our waitress was friendly but we did not see her too often. Waited awhile to order a second drink. Food was good but nothing outstanding
I went to dinner on Saturday night, the restaurant and bar was packed. Even though we had reservations it still took 50 minutes to seat us so if you are looking for a quick dinner this is not the place for you. Food was good and the portions were big. They have a dj on Saturday night and the bar was packed after. If you are looking for a some good food, music and drinks than you will like it, but my only complaints is drinks are a little weak, bar is small and you will wait for a table.
First time there for us. The spicy calamari and scallop appetizer was excellent and my husband really liked his chicken. I had a pasta, tomato, asparagus and lobster dish. Sounded wonderful, but really had very little flavor - for me a waste of $25, as the leftovers are still sitting in my fridge. Overall though, it was nice, and we would probably return.
The all over vibe of the restaurant was relaxed .. Interior design is soft, and eye catching ! There are an abundance of lounge couches and chair available as well as a beautiful up-scale bar area. The dishes are presented with unique dinnerware. The food (went for lunch ) is of generous portions,no skimping here ! We were 4 adults and ordered both starters as well as main course items. The salad was more then filling,Salomon cooked to perfection, tuna roll was fresh and tasty, nacho platter and beef roll was more than enough f... read more
A decent meal but there are better places in the area. NIce bar but drinks a little pricey. Overall, a decent place to go once in awhile, but probably wouldn't recommend.
There are a few really good restaurants on Main street and this is one of them. I thought the Wonton soup with the addition of the shrimp an excellent starter. I also enjoyed the roasted chicken breast, as well. A glass of wine at the bar (happy hour prices) and another with the meal made for a very good, but still reasonably priced dinner.
The martinis and desserts were great and worth the $ - the ginger cucumber martini was particularly notable. The grown-up chipwich was *very good*. The house salad was a bed of good lettuce with tasty, light dressing, but it had a blob of tomatoes and onions unceremoniously plopped on top of it as a "garnish" that tasted fine but looked fast-food. The snapper special was meh - dry fish, dry rice, overly-garlicked green beans; my husband's Cuban steak got high reviews from him. Our server was quite nice, though a couple of se... read more
This was our first visit to the Metro Cafe in Freehold. What drew us was the outside dining and the many different things on the menu. We started with Lobster Empanadas and Baked Brie Lollipops...outstanding. For dinner we had Sea Scallop Pinwheels rolled with crab-meat and the Potato Crusted Cod. Both dishes were outstanding! The menu includes many other eclectic choices. Also, since it was Wednesday, it was $25 Wine Night. Johnny our waiter stayed on top of things and made a point of making sure all were happy with their m... read more
