Nice machine, fast but it has a few quirks. The machine is fairly easy to set up. However, to connect the machine to a phone line for faxing or to use a USB cable for a non-wireless connection to a computer, you have to open the printer to access the plugs. Other brands have the plugs in back of the machine. I have found this to be rather inconvenient. Also, I had to contact Brother Support twice as the printer would not print. Really Nice Printer I purchased this printer to replace one that lasted over 6 years. So far I am very pleased with its performance. It prints quickly and the software is relatively easy to use. The ink use seems very efficient so far, especially using the ink save mode. The price was reasonable for the value. The only reason I took off one star is that occasionally the status monitor on my PC will indicate that the printer is offline, even though when I check the printer itself the WiFi indicator shows that it is connected ... read more
Excellent InkJet that is Fast! This Brother Printer was chosen over plenty of Laser printers just because I need the ability to print in color......I love the speed and size of it also the scanner mode works perfectly. If I had one suggestion it would be the same printer without Fax, who faxes nowadays?
Nice format and agility. The printer is well laid out for the amount of functionality you get. The ability to print up to ledger size, and print on thick stock without paper jams is stellar. The reason I give this three stars is because when I unboxed my printer, installed the ink and fired it up, it took three attemps to get the blue ink to print on the test, and the color quality is less then stellar. I will go buy new ink cartridges and see if this helps.
Good Printer Everything works great except the Auto Select on the MFT does not work with Windows 10. It works fine in Windows 7.
Very Happy with this product. This is the third Brother printer I have used, and I am very happy with it. The print quality is very good. I use it most often as a scanner. The scan quality is excellent, the multiple page scan is fast, scans both sides, has yet to jam on me.
Great printer This printer is a workhorse, it is fast, saves paper by printing on both sides and overall functions very well. This printer ink does not dry out like many that we have had. The dryness in Arizona is always a problem .
OK printer Large machine, very quick with text printing. Color printing and photos are disappointing compared to my Epson WP 4530 which was near pro photo quality. Software is clunky. Many steps just to get to the scan button. Help section always loads and is intrusive. Would not buy again.
Brother - MFC-J5830DW Printer quality is great and it prints quietly, which is nice. Have had some issues with changing the print trays, but Brother support is VERY HELPFUL and answers the phone quickly. Issues seem to be resolved and I love the printer!
