Disappointing.. Unfortunately, about 1 out of 10 pages printed come out with a large wrinkle running down the entire page. Brother has not been helpful in solving the issue but rather gives generic tips like "make sure the paper is loaded properly". Have used Brother printers for years without this issue. 2 stars docked for inexcusable design flaw and a missing setting I'm docking 2 stars for a flaw and a missing setting that are, in my mind, inexcusable. FLAW: This printer has a "stock" paper supply tray that holds 520 pages. However, the OUTPUT tray holds fewer pages - maybe around 300-325 or so. And, when the output tray fills up, the ENTIRE machine jams up. Usually it is the feeders that don't work right from what I've seen from 3 Brother printers. My office just bought this model and often it eats documents when scanning them.
CREASES PAGES & BAD DOCUMENT FEEDER! We bought this printer to replace a similar Brother 4-in-one printer that had given us 3 good years of service. Unfortunately, the document feeder on this one is a dog! It tears some documents that we feed through it (a HUGE problem since we copy a lot of original legal documents) and refuses to feed others. Nice Unit, Horrible Support I work in IT and I have purchased a number of Brother products over the years for various offices. Typically they are pretty reliable and fairly priced. In the MFC and fax machine space, they seem more robust than similarly priced HP's, Canons, etc. After a recent experience with Brother support, I had to write this review. False Advertising You buy this based on its productivity combined with number of impression per toner cartridge. I already discounted the 8,000 claim and anticipated 5,000. It only did 1200 before running out of toner (no great black areas). making the cost of this printer way too high. Also it did not come with large paper capacity as advertised. So buyer beware.
TERRIBLE Only lasted 6 months... ON the phone now with MFG who can fix the unit for $ 200... RIDICULOUS
ISSUES and DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH MAC I had high hopes for this printer. I need speed because I do a lot of mailings. Once it gets going it's fast but it takes forever to print the first page. I print a lot of PDFs. Those are the slowest to get to the first page and stop and start after that. First job of the day, the computer will not even connect so every morning I have to turn the printer off and on to get the computer to recognize it.
