Of course there is need for improvement but it is improving more each day.
Parents at the school are generally supportive to students, teachers, and all administration.
Teachers at Miami Arts Charter treat the student with respect while still maintaining a professional relationship.
We don't have a school nurse or a counselor for when we're in distress. Our best bet when we have a breakdown is going to a teacher we can trust and talk to and if it's urgent, they have to and will notify the parents and the administration. Other than that, I don't often feel like anything bad is going to happen to us but if it did they'd have to call 911 because our "school nurse" is a first aid kit with no band-aids and a disinfectant wipe.
If I were to explain the teachers at MAC, I would have to write an essay about how absolutely wonderful they are. They're helpful not only for educational purposes but also with emotional/personal situations. Most of them are very understanding, especially with neuro-divergent students. They're also very loving and caring and knowledgeable. I love all the teachers I've had (except for one who's sort of a sucky person but sometimes helps educational-wise).
There aren't many clubs or after-school activities but the art departments and the administration support is pretty wonderful. It could be a little better, though.
I love my school beginning with the fact that it's an art school. The different arts teachers rock and are extremely supportive. The different art departments are very strong and most of the students work very hard. Right now MAC is under some stress with the new campus being built and the Biscayne campus is sort of a mess but we're all pulling through regardless. We're a family, and I'm not the only one to think that.
It is very safe especially with the many security guards standing around and guarding who comes in and out of the school
The people here are very nice once you come here you can't not miss everyone and everything
