Disappointed I had a change in my situation (needing a larger unit sooner) before I had a chance to move in. I tried to find an alternative unit but nothing was available. The manager also pushed my move-in date back twice because of other units he had to get ready. I found another complex that was very accommodating, having the larger unit available within the week. If you be desperate The location and price, are great. Size of the apartments are not bad either. The walls are pretty thin and when my neighbors smoke in their apartment, I can smell it through the vents. Definitely old and worn down. Leasing office is friendly but not very helpful. A month later, 2 new keys, and a new lock, and I still cant access my mailbox. They told me now I have to wait until the mail man comes to unlock it, because they don't have a key to the lock they put on it.......Not to mention on the day I was ... read more

Buyer beware Would not recommend this complex unless you are on a tight budget. Moved to LR in Feb of 15 searched for a long time to find a safe place and ultimately landed here. Had called to discuss the many reports of roaches that are on google or other websites, they assured me those were false treatments were done once a month for all pests and so I moved in. Good Location, Poor Everything Else Let me first say that I rarely review anything, but I felt that this community warranted a truthful and current review so others will not fall into the same predicament that I am in. Shadow Lake is in an absolutely great location - it's close to major roadways, many great restaurants, and lots of activities. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DO NOT MOVE HERE. Two shootings have occurred since I moved out here. They have both happened in the last two months. The last one which occurred yesterday was fatal. This is not an safe environment at all. The apartments are really old an outdated. Something is constantly always going out or messing up. BUGS BUGS BUGS. They are everywhere. WARNING: Don't Live Here The girls in the Admin office are malicious, at time of Rental PLEASE, request copies of ALL documents that you sign, otherwise you'll be hosed and pursued if you are to Vacate the Rental in the future. Also, Expect your Monthly rents sent to you in the Mail to regularly Increase from the Contracted price you signed for originally. Can you imagine having to pay Shadow Lakes for 60 days after you move out? If so, move-in to Shadow Lake, your Dream will come true.
