Food was bland. Service (Miles) was sub par (auctioned off meals for party of 10). We have been CRG VIP member since 1994 and probably our worst experience we’ve ever had at a CRG restaurant.
Service was very sporadic, food was very spicy and I was disappointed that for the price point there were no table cloths or place mats, just a wooden table. Nothing really motivated me to want to go back.
The waitress was ill informed about the dishes, extremely slow, and cavalier about food allergies. The food was not seasoned, the strip was cut in a way that any legitimate butcher would balk at, and the vegetables were unevenly cooked. The pasta was not even close to al dente and shouldn’t be so gummy that it stuck in my teeth. The pomodoro sauce should not be called that. We have eaten here once before and had a really good experience. This time my partner ordered the NY strip and it was super tough, not what he expected. He should have sent it back but didn’t mention it to the waitress until after we’d already paid.
Cocktail- Negroni- used an aperatif glass very small, instead of a manhattan glass for negrone and Carpaccio- total disaster, no resemblance to the original Venetian recipe, instead of olive oil and lemon, and ground Parmigiano cheese, they placed 4 dabs of seasoned mayonnaise. look at my original recipe in my published book, Tuscany al Verano. Appetizers and 3 of 4 entrees were excellent. My wife ordered the halibut and it was dry and thus over cooked. It seems chefs just cannot cook halibut properly or it sits too long. This has happened in other restaurants supposedly quite high end. SOLUTION: never order halibut in a restaurant since it cannot be cooked properly Other entrees were excellent and wine selection was excellent as well.
The food is very bad, it is not authentic Italian food and i got a stomach infection when eating the bolognese tagliatelle.

We come to Nesso as a special treat once or twice a year. This was the first time for us this year. I always get the Buccatini and meatballs...this time the noodles were gummy, the meatballs weren't falling apart (so tender you dont need teeth to eat them) and they were spicy. We asked our waitress if they changed something and she said yes, the recipe. I'm extremely disappointed to hear this. Why mess with a good thing?!
