Took a classic cruise on Classic Cruises of Newport's schooner Madeleine, bouncing on sun-dappled waves around the bright, breezy harbor. Highly recommend this fun and affordable excursion. Classic Cruises runs such a nice operation. The mates, in addition to be mighty sailing men, were well-informed about scenic points of interest and very user-friendly. The Madeleine classic motor yacht cruise and all of their staff were fantastic which added to our wonderful time in Newport. The sailing crew provided entertaining information and local gossip about the homes along the coastline. The captain cruised smoothly throughout the bay's calm waters. Great ride. We had a great time with Melissa, Matt, and Charlie. Went for a bachelorette and though it was cold, we had a great time with the fun staff and beautiful views.
We went on the Madeleine sailing this past August and loved it!! The crew was wonderful....fun and filled with information on the surroundings....it is a must for anyone that loves boating...will certainly do it again.
The Quick: Probably the best thing I did in Newport, Rhode Island. Absolutely stunning views, friendly and amazing staff, and just a fun overall experience... With booze! Always an amazing experience!! My husband and I were married on the Madeleine and love to go for a sail when we visit Newport! The crew is always welcoming and have a ton of local knowledge! We can't wait to go back!
This was well worth the price of admission. The crew was great. Well versed in safety, hospitality and the art&science of sailing. The exceptional crew made the cruise very enjoyable even for the land lovers who accompanied us on the voyage. We were even taught the correct pronunciation of nautical weather terms including "sauna"
What a great day! The wind was just right and we sailed!!! Loved the crew. They knew so much and had a great mix of humor while allowing the guests to enjoy each other and see the sights. Plenty to see and learn, but also a feel of being free to relax and just enjoy. We would sail again!!!!
We had a ride on this awesome sailboat yesterday !! And we have to say Brody was amazing !! Give him a raise or make him a captain !!! He was amazing !
