great a little restaurant, tried for the first time during restaurant week. great for groups because of the size of tapas are very generous so everyone can get a little taste.
Food was great and the atmosphere was amazing!
Overall, the place was great. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.... There was a large parties of very loud, obnoxious girls, but besides that, I really enjoyed my experience. Good spot for a casual Friday night dinner or late weekend lunch.
This was the first time we went. The tables are small and we had a hard time getting all the plates on the table. We did not expect them to bring all the food at the same time. Consequently, some of the food got cold before we could eat it. We were not able to have coffee because they ran out of decaf coffee.
Nia's is a smaller space on Randolph, next to Girl and the Goat. It's just as good as The Girl, only easier to get into, more reasonably priced, and quieter. We had a lovely temperanillo wine for about $40. The ceviche was just terrific - nicely spicy without burning your mouth. The seafood was perfect, the avocado and cucumber not mushy. What a great find! Finely executed small plates, unique taste sensations, friendly, attentive service. Not to me missed are the medjool date appetizer on a red pepper sauce, the diver scollops, and the bread pudding dessert. This was my second visit; must return soon to sample more of the unique menu.
My husband and I had registered for Nia through Foodie Registry for our wedding, and we decided to go here for a nice Christmas dinner for just the two of us. Overall it was a GREAT experience and we will definitely go back. It is very upscale compared to other tapas restaurants in Chicago. I would highly recommend the lamb and feta meatballs -- DELISH! My only complaints would be: 1. The waitress didn't really expain any of the menu to us, especially since it was our first time there. We got the trio of charcuterie and we w... read more
We had the prix fixe menu shared among 4 friends. For the price, we got a good variety of food. It was delicious, but it was also an expected standard for a tapas restaurant. It's not something I can't wait to try again, but it's definitely another last-minute relatively inexpensive dinner option in the West Loop.
