My family and I recently moved here from across the country, and between us have 14 cats and 4 dogs--meaning we needed a new vet. I have been to 3 so far; the first two were nice, but didnt particularly stand out. Fortunately, Dr Holland did at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. The staff, facility, Dr's are terrific at North Meck Animal ... we discovered them when we had family emergency and needed to leave town... but my cat was throwing up and it was a Saturday! They were open, said bring him in, we'll take care of him and keep him til you get back. We just had a vacay and boarded him here and again excellent care AND most importantly communication from the staff to let us know how he's doing! Highly recommend!

While NMAH is not our usual vet--primarily due to distance and the fact that our dog hates being in the car--we use them about once a quarter, either for second opinions or urgent care visits. I appreciate that they offer later hours on weeknights, and they ALWAYS fit us in, even if it's close to closing time. That's usually when our dog seems to have issues, too, when our usual vet is already closed. No matter who we have seen--or at what time--we have received exceptional care at NMAH. The staff here is amazing! I was able to get an appointment right away and the care they took with my Peanut was exceptional! They followed up with me and gave me suggestions that turned out in our favor without having to return,. I recommend this place. And I will definitely be back.
Dr. Spickler is AWESOME! She not only takes great care of our Coc-a-Poo fur baby, Lily, but took special time to research and help our small guinea pig, Gravy. Although she does not specialize in guinea pigs, she took her own time to research and have knowledge to exam our little pig. She also followed up on numerous phone calls and gave us recommendations on nutrition. She also called a specialized vet help as well. We are so grateful to Rachel Spickler! I moved to NC after living my entire 25 years in AZ. The only hard part of my move was leaving my long time groomer of my two pups and their vet. I had worked for a rescue for years. I have been going to North Meck for many years and with many dogs.These are wonderful doctors and the entire staff is fantastic. Even after the sudden passing of my husband and my loss of career they worked with me on a payment plan when my new rescue (a 2 year old Corgi) came down ill when all others demanded payment upfront. I tried other vets and they couldn't help my baby yet once I got to North Meck. they were on it and knew exactly what needed to be done.
