The staff is super friendly, almost to friendly, but we like that. The doctors , we have met two, really seem to care about the pets. We just moved to NC from CT . They were really good at getting out info and helping us get settled
I moved to Huntersville from Boston 18 months ago along with my puggle and 3 cats; I had done my research and was actually in the process of sending their medical files to a different veterinary practice when I met a gentleman while walking our dogs at Birkdale. I've tried a few different vets in the Lake Norman/Charlotte area since moving here 4 years ago and NMAH is by far the best. I have been taking my pets here for the past 2 1/2 years and they are very caring, very up to date on animal health and have always been flexible. Dr. James is very knowledgeable and skilled and my Boston Terrier loves going to see him. He had knee reconstruction recently and it turned out better then we ever expected. I highly recommend NMAH for any type of pet care.
I feel like the staff at North Mecklenburg Animal is family. Everyone is friendly, caring and helpful. My 4 pets are my kids and I put full confidence in Dr. Schaff, who has been my vet for 8 yrs, to provide optimal care. He has helped to prolong the life of my 16 yr old cat who's been challenged with multiple health issues over the years. When he's not available, Ive had great experiences with the other vets as well. I highly recommend this animal hospital!
I came into NMAH devistated because my sweet Maggie was in so much pain. She was shaking and could hardly walk. After talking w the wonderful Doctor and Nurse we all agreed it would be best for Maggie to be put to sleep. She had been in severe pain for six long weeks. The staff was so patient, gentle, understanding, kind, and right there with me until I was able to walk away. Days later they sent me a beautiful paw print in clay with a pink ribbon and gems. Dr. Schaaf cared for our lab from the time she was 5, beginning with two ACL repairs, saw her through a bout with cancer, and managed her arthritis and general health with skill and compassion, up to and including her recent passing at age 15 1/2. The entire staff is very caring and clearly loves what they do. We could not have asked for better care and would recommend NMAH without hesitation.
Our 9 yr old Lab mix Daisy has had two knee surgeries at NMAH and we couldn't b happier! We dealt with Dr. James and were so pleased with his knowledge, Honesty, and time spent. After being highly recommended by a friend, I can honestly say that the ENTIRE staff exceeded all expectations! The care and attention Daisy received from her first visit THRU her recovery at home was simply phenomenal! I would HIGHLY recommend NMAH, you won't be disappointed!!
I love the whole staff here! They are all so friendly and treat my dog as if he was their own. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a vet.
We love these veterinarians but our 13 year old Border Collie was mis-diagnosed by one doctor who is retiring. Hence after nearly 4 months of unnecessary treatment the diagnosis was changed by another of the team. I firmly believe that if said doctor didn't mis-diagnosed our dog, he would still be alive today. Having to put our beloved, dog down to me was not warranted. The pain, sorrow, agony and the inability to control our loss has pretty much destroyed us .
