Short rib and birria tacos were great. Queso tasted velveeta based. Server is rated 3 but only because I felt sorry for him having the whole back room. Three requests for drinks went unanswered. Orders were not all taken before he left the table- couldn’t he see 3 people?. Sides-refried beans and rice were old and cold, and were not fresh in taste or consistency. Chile relleno was strictly for presentation- the flavors were missing. Christmas decorations were great!
We had a great Christmas girls day starting at neuva cantina. The skinny margarita is delicious and strong! The decor for Christmas was great!

Everything was delicious. First time we’ve been here since the new owners and it was excellent. Good drinks, good apps, good entrees, and affordable.
The food was so flavorful and fresh, and the portion sizes were generous.
The ambiance, service, drinks, and energy were great! I loved all the Halloween decor a d the costumes the servers were in! The food was okay at best. The food was pretty bland and lacked the flavor and spices of Mexican restaurants.You're paying more for the drinks and ambiance than anything else.
Last night was our first time at Nueva Cantina. We had a reservation at 8:30. Sat down at 8:33 and a server didn't great us until 9:03. Food had a good flavor but portions were small for the price. Drinks were good.
New owners took over it and the menu, food, and drinks are terrible now
They've changed a few things and in my opinion, not for the better. In our dining experience last night, the service was impeccable but that was the only real highlight. The cocktails were not quite right and the food was excessively salty. Also they switched their tortilla source (apparently local now) but the new ones are not right either.
