The cleanliness of the dining room gets a 2, I had my own villa which I kept clean. Mostly ignored by staff. There are very little activities and in 2023 rent increase 12% (fee removed monthly) 2024 rent increase 7% (fee removed monthly) As rent increased, quality went down. At one point I had rats outside my villa & it took 3 weeks before Oaks got rid of them! PLEASE don't recommend this place to anyone. When I left there were 9 empty villas. Those of us who could afford to get out did. I feel so bad for those still there.
Last year their sprinkler system broke and flooded multiple units. Many were displaced for months with no communication or care from The Oaks. Currently the water has been shut off for days no communication or info to residents. Days with out toilets that flush, showers, or drinking water. Not a word from The Oaks. If you have a senior who you love please do not send the here this is a huge bait and switch scam and you will be sorely disappointed like we are!!
My Mother lives there, in independent living. When she moved in back in [date removed] the restaurant was fully staffed and the food was impressive, but then came Covid 19 and the ensuing staff shortages, reductions in the dining schedule and most importantly the quality of the food went so far downhill that to call it Chef prepared is quite the joke among the residents and this dining room has yet to recover. I ate with my mother last week and she was served a plate with a scoop of dry mashed potatoes, overcooked string bea... read more
Be very aware of their physical therapy services. Their staff will tell you they have had your PT approved and your copay total will be a "nominal amount " and give you a price which is not even close to the ridiculous bill they send. Then they try to tell you your insurance is out of network. ( The same one they say was pre-approved.) I would advise residents to get PT outside of this facility.
The recreation department is non existent for a majority of residents, memory impaired wonders around asking for help to get out. No music no art no nothing! One day there was music in the main room and no one from recreation came to take anyone. The cleaning lady wheeled out a couple of people well after it started. Thank you to her. It's a crying shame, mentally to all those trapped in their and the poor aids who could use some mental health from these poor souls.
I visited a loved one over the Memorial Day weekend, and I could not believe how much this place has changed since the new owners came in. The place was dirty, trash was over flowing in the room, food from the day before was left in the room, and the smell was sickening. My loved one had not showered in days. It broke my heart to see this happening. We have since moved my loved one out of there. Please do not put your loved one through this.
My father in law resided at Gracemont for the last three years. My mother in law died at this facility last year. My wife was always fighting for good care. I recently visited my father in law. I had to fix the wheelchair in his room. Within about ten minutes I was so sick to my stomach by the smell of urine. I went into the bathroom and it was even worse in there. The floor in his bathroom had not been cleaned in so long. I just couldn't believe how bad it was. My mother in law suffered so much more than should of her last ... read more
My step father had to be moved out of Gracemont today because of lack of good care. So many days he would still have his dinner from the night before on his table at 11:00 am the next day. By this time the food is really stinking. He is still laying in bed and had not even gotten up. His bathroom stinks so bad because it never gets cleaned. The hospice nurse saw these conditions this week and couldn't believe it. We are just so tired of fighting for good care.
My mother resided at Gracemont from Aug of 2012 until January of 2014. In November of 2013, my mom began having very frequent falls, staff was very inconsiderate when these incidents occurred. Her health began declining very rapidly as well. We decided to move her to another facility (The Oaks at Post Road). We moved her in January 2014 due to the lack of care, incorrect meds being given or meds not being given, dirty rooms, poor quality of food, as well as frequent staff turn over. My mother passed away in May of 2014, and ... read more
