We came here before the Memorial Day Weekend rush, and the experience was about mediocre. The positives to the resort are that it is close to the beach no matter where in the resort you stay, the staff (whether it be the parking pass folks, the general store, the tennis pro shop staff or golf pro shop) are generally kind and extremely helpful, and there are several activities available (i.e. Tennis, golf, the beach, kayaking, bicycling, etc). I love this hotel! Its beautiful & pet friendly. My husband & I visit Hilton Head Island alot and we love this hotel. We will be back again & again :)
We rented through a private owner who listed his unit on VRBO. The place was quiet and beautiful, offering great views of the ocean. The owner dealt with our one minor issue (construction noise) promptly and helpfully. We'll be returning to this place again next year.

Clean, great spot, roomy and beautiful condo. We had a fabulous time in a perfect location in walking distance to the beach!
Our family just returned from 4 days renting a vacation villa managed by Palmetto Dunes Ocean front resort. For those of you that do not realize it is actually not a resort but many different properties managed by this company. Regardless, we rented unit 7124 Harborside 1. At first glance this villas seems to be to good to be true. 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, decorated lovely. At second glance is when doubt sets in. First: I want to say that I have waited 3 weeks to write this review, as it would have been much harsher right after the event, and I wanted to do this with a better perspective. We had a family wedding at the Dunes House, with wedding on the beach and reception at the Center Court. This was what our family members wanted--a casual wedding at a beautiful resort venue. A friend and I decided to get out of the cold, and get to a little warmer climate for New Years. After looking around on home away, I found one of the larger villas for rent in St. Andrews /Palmetto Dunes. Golf courses were amazing. Although I am sure there are tons of resort options on Hilton Head Island, I would very happy to stay here again. I booked a weekend to decompress after 2 weeks straight of business travel. The rental that I reserved was a very nicely renovated condo in one of the private communities in the resort. It was marvelously appointed, with a stainless steel appliance equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining area and a comfortable bedroom. There was also a small patio area with BBQ grill.
