Most of the staff, I would rate as a 4+, but there is one caregiver that we have had some issues with. We have talked to the management, and they say that they are working on it, so we hope so. I think that they could also improve on their activities. They do drawings and paintings, but they could use some more physically active games, since some of the residents are still in good physical shape. Something like puzzles or throwing balls. The price is a little high, but they work with our insurance. We mainly chose them becau... read more

I'm overall really pleased with how my dad is doing there. He's doing better there than he was at home. They are just so caring and loving towards all of the residents. They want to do what they can to make their residents' lives as good as possible and I really appreciate that. I think they're doing really well. My dad really likes to go outside and at Pacifica he can go outside whenever he wants. They have yards, trees, grass, and porches so he can walk around outside while still being within the secured area. I'm very hap... read more

We just loved this place. Not only did we like the layout of small cottages but we also liked the guaranteed monthly fee for life. The director was terrific in selling the facility...it was homey and comfortable. This will be the place we chose when the time comes.

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!

The rooms and facility was nice enough. The staff in my dad's unit were poorly trained and unkind. My Dad died at the facility with no hospice care because no-one recognized his condition. After he passed we never heard one word from the facility. No note or call, no assistance NOTHING. Communication with the administrator was horrible. I cannot recommend this facility.

Business response:

We understand you are grieving, and we are truly sorry for your loss. Due to HIPAA privacy laws, we are unable to respond directly about your dad’s care, but surely a family member or designated POA was actively participating with us. We offer hospice on a consistent basis, and our Executive Director Carlos is always available for family members. We wish your family peace at this time.

Most of the caregivers are wonderful. Communication with/from staff and administration is difficult and it can be challenging to get the information you need; just keep asking questions! Not much variety in activities, but the Activities Director is super sweet and loves the residents. Food is amazing!!

Business response:

We appreciate all feedback and we love that there are some great positives here, such as the caregivers, the Activities Director and the food. We will discuss the areas that you see can be improved and use this as a teachable moment. Thank you for your openness.

The idea of cottages and the secured area for residents to wander around. That there are different levels of care as needed for residents. Improvement would come if staff was more helpful in the cottages. They seem to acknowledge concerns but no effort made to correct the concerns.

My tour with Pacifica Senior Living Paradise Valley was terrible. I walked into their lobby. Nobody knew about our appointment. The lobby looked like it was a storage room with boxes and stuff stashed everywhere. I didn't get to have a tour because they stated they didn't know about my appointment.

Business response:

We sincerely apologize that we missed your appointment and it was miscommunication on our end. The community staff checked the record book and saw that your tour was scheduled. Unfortunately, you arrived just after our community-wide deliveries from Amazon were dropped off and it was human error. Not that this is an excuse but you deserve an explanation. We would like to show you around our community during a time when it is less hectic.

I chose this place due to the fact I thought it was an ideal setting for our loved one. I wish the administrative staff would stay in touch when loved ones contact them. I have tried to call the resident care director about upcoming appointments and concerns. It takes too long to hear back. I also was told that patients in memory care could have free cable TV in their rooms, only later to learn from someone else that is not true. Please know that keeping in touch with family members is important in retaining your clients.

Business response:

Dear CJ, Due to HIPPA rules (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), we are restricted from commenting regarding a current or former resident’s care. You can rest assured that we are in daily contact with those who have medical Power of Attorney (POA) with regard to a resident’s care. Beyond that, we are not at liberty to share this information any further so we suggest that you seek out the POA directly.
