I recently relocated here from Charlotte. Before I moved to Newport, I decided to come up and shop for apartments. While in Newport I toured several apartments and found Park Place by accident. When I walked in I was welcomed by Nikki, who was my leasing consultant. My fiancé and I were looking into moving from where we were at the time to something bigger for ourselves and our girls!!! We happened to be going to our bank which was a 3 minute walk from the Park Place rental office. Well there were no parking spots available in front of our bank so we parked in front of the leasing office. As we were coming back from the bank we noticed a “Now Leasing” sign outside. My move-in experience with Park Place leasing office was a breeze. I don’t like the fact that because it’s only me in my place I can only get one key to my apartment. I’ve never heard of that in my life any other apartment I’ve stayed in they give me two keys and one mailbox key. I also dislike the fact that because I don’t have a registered car. I have lived at Park Place 4 times in the past 14 years. This last time was the worst. I notified the office on April 11th, 2024 that I would be moving. The girl in the office told me that she would need a date. I told her that I would say June 30th since that's when the lease ends, but it would probably be before that. She said that they would need the date. I told her at that time I would move on May 17th. I provided her with my forwarding address. She gave me the moveout checklist at that time. Response time is too slow due to few maintenance staff members. When the staff does arrive, they are very courteous and highly knowledgeable. Great team, but too few of them to get to residents in a timely manner. I had to wait 2 and 1/2 days before they could arrive to repair my issue with having no hot water in the apartment, and no running water at all in bathroom. We had to shower at our gym for 2 days. Really not acceptable.

The apartment smelled of smoke; like a cheap casino or hotel. The carpet is extremely old and needs replacing. It had paint all on the carpet along with bleach stains. It is a carpet that you don’t want to walk on barefoot!!! However, when I brought this issue to management they quickly assisted with the removal of the smoke smell. They showed a great deal of concern and I was appreciative of that.

I had a miserable experience with Park Place. Management has awful communication. From no one being in the office when I went (during office hours), to the phone never being answered, to the voicemail box always being full, the only time I could get a response was when a strongly worded email was sent their way threatening to reach out to higher-ups. This is the worse to live. Just received a letter, $1343.00 current rent, new rent $1756.00. They are small, no closet space or storage. Roaches are all over the place and they only put bug traps in rooms and say they sprayed but it does help, the grounds are dirty, Check M-F how the trash cans are. The appliances are 1980, and basic. Pool is dirty and never open, rent increases every year. BE ADVISED DONT TAKE YOUR CHANCES AND BE SOLD ON LIES.
