1609 Trousdale Dr, Burlingame, CA, 94010, United States
Get directionsAfter a stay at Mills Peninsula hospital, my father was moved to this facility to have PT and get stronger before returning to assisted living. I live in Burlingame so stopped in often to see him and I was absolutely horrified at the care he received here. While PT and OT services and providers were great as were a very few of the overworked/understaffed nurses, the rest of the care was simply appalling: 1) My dad was admitted to a room with a roommate who had a horrible hacking cough. The next morning, the room was closed o... read more
The pluses were the Physical and Occupationsl Therapy dept was incredible The negatives: 1. Chronically understaffed on days and evenings where the staff had 12-13 pts. Much use of registry 2. The care was marginal. Example was an 81 year old with a broken arm and broken shoulder immobilized. She would be given her tray of food and the staff would walk away without feeding her. My husband fed her several times. Call lights could take up to 45 minutes to be answered. 3. Night shift was hell. Staff was loud. Call lights not ... read more
I was sent to PPA after being in Peninsula Hospital for many days on antibiotics for an Osteomyelitis. This was so I could continue the IV for the following 8 days. Immediately I was to be in a room with an unmasked guy who, I found out later had been at another care facility with COVID, and a respiratory infection. Within two days I developed a sore throat and within 5 days COVID ! I brought the sore throat fears to the nurses' (Julies') attention. The ONE nurse I thought handeled nursing protocol well. Dr. Aditi Patel sa... read more

Subpar care, no follow through, no proper HVAC, and an outdated facility from the 70's(single pain windows, furniture falling apart, etc. The patient I was taking care of as a caregiver was pushed out early( facility not impartial to Insurance and "independent third party oversite" that led to her being readmitted to the hospital for pneumonia and staff infection. The only reason there are 2 stars as there were a few honorable mention employs mixed among the nurses complaining of being overworked, mismanaged, and offering th... read more
Rundown - very disappointed! Besides the facility being rundown, my mom asked for a blanket and they gave her a sheet and said they didn't have any. After a few days, she had a return visit at the doctors office and the facility offered her a shower and the nurse told her quietly, be sure to take it, as we don't offer this often. In addition, the p/t and o/t was extremely limited. No value add, thus we checked her out of the facility after four days and brought her home. We do not recommend this facility, regardless of how n... read more

My dad got admitted there from Stanford after a bypass surgery for physical therapy. He was not happy during that stay. Nurses do not show up when they are buzzed beside the bad attitude they showed to my dad when he was asking for help. They tried to keep my dad there a longer time ,they said he needed that because they need to change on his incision every day. We decided to keep him there for one extra night as they requested. My dad got admitted there on Tuesday and he went home on Saturday. As I was told by the case mana... read more

This facility is so severely understaffed--1 nurse to 20 patients. Response is super slow when you press the call button. If you're watching over a fall risk patient, you have to leave the patient to walk over to the nurses station to try to get attention. And at times, you have to do this more than once. The nurses are nice, but they are just spread too thin. Very disappointing!
